I love this! I find it hilarious that, even if it's mostly for torture purposes, that Dumbbell would be so chill with his son being a flower child. Now I kinda see a sweet moment where big tough old Dumbbell would let little Stormy give him flowers even in front of other manly ponies. Maybe Hoops and him being those dads who are soft when they have kids, like Hoops with a daughter and Dumbbell with Stormy. >////< so cute!!
And though I could see both parents being supportive of Stormys love life, my darker side could see Rainbow for a time being slightly disappointed; feeling not only is her son a flower child boy, but somehow "Less so because now he's gay" and that "Guess it makes sense why he was always into flowers" and Dumbbell being the one all cool with his son and having to tell Rainbow that she is being rather harsh. Might also make sense since Rainbow could have been picked on for possibly being lesbian for her tomboy nature (though same thing could deter her from doing it to her son).
Just some dark thoughts that crossed the mind. This family is uber adorable no matter how you swing it!

blossom crowns do not make gay children ... if isn't flowers, would be painted macaroni or a sequins necklace : in schools in kindergarten through third grade, teach them to show affection to Mom and to stimulate fine motor skills and other skills ... When my son learned to make origami butterflies , you know how many did? They get excited when they learn something new and do it well...

Again I know this. I dont think flowers make gay children or anything that narrow minded...I had my thoughts solely based on Stormys confirmed sexuality, not the fact he like flowers and is a softer person unlike his Brucie XD. Mostly that the fact that such necklaces can be seen as "girly" even when it's not but RD, like in this picture, could still feel it's a bit too girly especially for her son she wants to still be a racer. I understand though that kids do such things to form skills and I see nothing wrong with any kid enjoying them solely because it's them learning something or just because they like flowers. Boys and girls can like flowers without it being something considered gay or negatively feminine (which itself is stupid as femininity shouldn't be considered negative or an insult itself).

If I may, I truly dislike the "family member coming to accept a gay child" story trope. It feels patronizing and just rubs me entirely the wrong way, and I have no plans to implement it in my work. I am trying to tell a story about family and love, and although Stormy is a lot of things that Rainbow has trouble accepting, his being bi is not one of them.

But again, I didn't mean to come across as a negative person/someone seeking negativity in the story. I love your universe and it's one I am more immersed in because of the choice of shippings and the light hearted and loving nature of it. I apologize if I came across any other way and I think its great to keep a positive image and show more stories of love and acceptance rather than contriving dark plot lines just for effect. I dont want to rub you the wrong way and be a negative fan in your eyes, so again apologies if I had... :3

Oh yeah I totally understand that. Yeah its a predictable trope and rather contrived now a days, was more just delving in my thoughts. I know you planned on having his whole family being cool with it so I wasn't trying to make anything by it, just delving in too dark thoughts. Plus Rainbow would be an accepting parent, even if embarrassed by flowers XD. Like another said before though, I imagine her being more accepting in private than in public like she is with Tank <3. Also like said, I love the idea of her being all "I'm goign to defeat you with kisses" and being all playful with him in return. And her giving a razzie to a little Stormy is adorable! I still enjoy Dumbbell being so chill with his softie son, previous bullies being chill with their kids like that is adorable and positive.

I do not know ... I think I conceive RD more like the kind of mom who behaves radical only in public. In private she is totally different . Remember the episode of " Thanks for the memories " : She usually melts by her turtle when thinks no one is looking.
Honestly I found her like me : I speak to my son with apparent harshness (several moms are shocked when I yell "Come here , Pygmy! " ) and then, at home or when I see he are unwell or sad, he looks for me to feel better.
I am the only adult who does not solve his life and always speaks straight with him.
Sincerely in the "family photo " , I expected a " behind the scenes " with RD scolding falsely Storm: " Why do you make me look bad in the picture ...I 'm going to kill you with kisses ! " Catches , mess all his mane and kisses all over his face until he runs away , dying of laughter. Are a lot of options.

I know I just posted some dark ideas for this and played with the thoughts, but I agree with you here. That seems in her character but I can see her being slightly miffed, at least for a small period of time at this age. I do see her getting over it though and doing the things you say she would and be totally fine with it when he is older.

I agree with this. I got some blue stuff when my sister was pregnant and her family got all confused because it was a girl, but I made a point to buy some blue things. I didn't mind if the girl ended up loving pink (which she does very much XD) but I wanted her to have all sorts of stimuli not just the pink people automatically give to be feminine. My goddaughter is amazing though, she is such a girly girl but then loves all the baddies in MLP like Nightmare Moon (her first huge favorite) and Discord. It makes me so proud 8D.

I agree. My thoughts went on a darker path but it was more of a passing thought. However it was a rather contrived and predictable trope so it was more of a passing thought. I still enjoy previous bully Dumbbell being the one more chill with Stormys softer ways at first. It's nice to see that change in personality and seeing him being that dad that will toss "masculinity" out the door and give into their childs tea parties and cute things is so sweet! I hope to see more of lil Stormy and daddy Dumbbell, maybe with Hoops and his kid *if she has one for him* to see the two bully dads being so open and involved with their kids; even if it's "embarrassing".
But yes, I'm not a mother so I have no true understanding, but I can see it changing a lot of who you are as a person. Plus Rainbow not only will change as a mother, but as she grows up in general; like how I feel we are seeing with Tank. I can see her being more of a jokster with her son when he is older like "You are jsut such a softie" but mess with him in a fun nature and like you said, get all kissy back and instigate a game with it >3<

Hmm, I think it's just me, but in every pic of Rainbow and Aerostorm, Rainbow always seems to have a embarrassed look about her, like she was embarrassed by her son. I'm pretty sure it isn't, and I could be overthinking things, but there hadn't been a pic where Rainbow and Aerostorm are smiling together or something.
