"Well, that was pleasant." Rosemary lilted cheerfully. Blood dripped freely from her nose.

"Yes." Cupcake agreed, loosening the tape from her hooves. She shot Rosemary a rare smirk. "Good form on that roundhouse kick, by the way."

"You think so, angel?" Rosemary returned a smile. "I particularly enjoyed the way you threw that left hook." She giggled, and tapped on her swollen cheek with a wince. "Very graceful...and very painful."

"Thank you." Cupcake smiled, then let a hoof come up to touch Rosemary's cheek. "...Your eye looks bad. We should get you back to Missus Fluttershy-"

"No!" Rosemary leapt wildly to her hooves. "Mummy can't know about these little...spars of ours, Cupcake. What would she think of me? I...I always ramble on about peace, love, and tranquility, but look at me. Addicted to brawling, like some kind of...deviant."

"You're not a deviant, Rosie."

"Your bruises beg to differ, angel. I did that." Rosie looked down at her bloodied hooves. "...I did."

"You did. But only because I didn't move out of the way quickly enough. There's a thrill to be had in violence, but these fights are a good thing, Rosie." Cupcake asserted. "Through them, we become stronger. You make me stronger, so I can better protect the ponies I care about." Cupcake looked away suddenly, and bit her lip. "Also...it's, well...fun."

"And...you don't think that's wrong? Violence as fun?"

"Everpony needs an outlet." Cupcake shrugged. "We're not hurting anypony."

"I take offense to that last part, honeysuckle." Rosemary chuckled, rubbing at her bruised hoof. She leaned forward and enveloped Cupcake in a gentle hug. The smaller mare stiffened at the contact, but Rosie simply chalked it up to Cupcake's injuries.

"Thank you for doing this with me, darling." Rosemary nuzzled her snout against Cupcake's cheek, and the smaller mare went even more tense, and oddly warm. "It means a lot that you'd indulge this hippie in her...insatiable deviant lust for wanton violence."

"...A-anytime." Cupcake finally answered. She squirmed out of Rosie's hug, clearing her throat. "You're my friend, Rosemary. If you're a deviant, then I am too."

"Deviants together." Rosemary smiled, and bumped her hoof against Cupcake's. "Our little secret."

"What will you tell your mother then?" Cupcake asked. Again, she reached a concerned hoof toward her friend's face. "Your eye really does look bad-"

"Oh, I'll tell Mummy I got into a scuffle with Harry the Bear when I went to give him his monthly back massage. It wouldn't be the first time he's mauled me." Rosemary beamed.

"You've been attacked by one of your mother's animal friends before? Why haven't you sent him back into the forest?"

"Oh, sweet, silly Cupcake." Rosemary gently admonished. "Honestly. Where's the fun in having a bear friend if you can't get a little mauled once in a while?"

Rosemary's tone was chipper as sunshine, and Cupcake blinked at her. After a moment of consideration, she choose not to pursue the issue.

"...Right. We'll tell your mother you were attacked by a bear." Cupcake paused, before smirking. "...A very strong, fierce bear." She pointed a hoof at her own chest, gloating.

"A very cute, tiny bear." Rosemary teased. Cupcake startled, then flushed an adorable shade of crimson. Rosie giggled. "And I didn't stand a chance."
