Description
In my series of Star Wars quickies, I come today with a (already overly done) representation of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader.Not much to say about it really, besides the fact that it was an interesting practice.
The original concept showed more of their faces and busts, but i decided to crop it to focus only on the face and helmet.
Adobe Photoshop CS2, Bamboo Fun tablet, just a bit over an hour of actual work.

over done and nonoriginal as it might be, for an hour's worth of work, it's brilliant practice. There is one thing I must comment on though. I think Anakin is a bit too dark and the brush texture over his face and saber take away from him. I personally feel like the blue highlight could have really complemented him. But again for an hour's worth of work, I'm being over critical.

And I see your point indeed about the texture being a bit heavy maybe. I'd have to check on my psd, but if i remember well, I didn't even do any level or color adjustments on that one as I usually do even with my speedpaintings. I just went straight for it.
It was a great practice indeed, it's like 2 subjects in one, albeit half of them each.. lol
I've also been using goro's brushes for this little series of speedpaints (R2, Vader, and this one) and I'm starting to get used to them and to like them. I'm thinking I should start on my background painting skills now using the tips you told me and showed me

I cannot wait to see that! At first it will be a bit weird making BGs, but with a couple of pieces, you'll be well on your way to making your own realms
