Description
A Remake of a very old work of mine, which you can find here: fav.me/d1kjb8lDue to lack of time, I made this REALLY quickly, but I'm happy with the result and a fine showcase of how much I've grown since back then.
More to come soon!
Hope you like it!

Wow again.
Apart from having planet, moon and a spaceship this is quite different to the first piece.
And different in a good way. With ST ships everybody a bit into scifi roughly knows how large they are and here you manage to convey a scale -as Avolendi says- with a few minor seeming details. Those details here are one of the important parts and not just some random greebles to try conveying scale.

Thanks
Yeah scale is something very important in my eyes, especially in Space - due to missing sense of depth due to lack of atmosphere, fog, etc. you can only achieve it with certain details or comparative shapes (windows for example). Glad it worked

Wow. Very nice!
I like how you very simply give a sense of strong armor and the scale implied by the lights/windows also feels good.
Could you describe how you determine the scale of the various elements (windows, guns, armor plating)Β or is it just on the fly?

Thank you!
To (hopefully) answer your question: I usually start with a certain scale in mind and will create the vessels accordingly - the big one here is over 1km in length, the smaller ones around 300-400 meters (don't have the exact numbers in mind honestly). So the windows on every vessel are actually to scale with about 1,5 meters, the same goes with the texture of course

I think the background draws my attention the most in this piece, only because the cities on the planet and the aurora in space is pretty mesmerizing.Β

Thank you very much! In comparison to the original piece, I think that is exactly the place where I improved the most

The link is poiting to another ship. Did I miss something?
"A well-armed exploration vessel, I love seeing things like this." - aka CRUISER ...

Well back then I mostly created pictures involving Star Trek vessels. Nowadays I've changed to primarily use pictures with my own universes.
And yeah, Cruiser, Battleship or something along that line is a better description of that vessel
