Description
This has been a bad weekend for DCP. I have had so many computer problems, and for the past 2 days my PC wouldn't let me access Deviantart. I could go anywhere else on the web but DA.Well finally I get an update out!
Thank goodness.

Tired of lying in the sun shine staying home to watch the rain.
And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you'll find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run you missed the starting gun.

I find the characters of Vicki and Noelle fascinating. Vicki can move from loving, caring and maternal to a manipulative succubus without missing a beat. And Noelle's human past, like Vicki's,Β Β has only been hinted at.
I hope LDM gives us their backstories - and Jonathan's, too.

Well we did see Vicki's backstory in chapter 15.
Noelle's is coming in Chapter 17.
There isnt much backstory to Jonathan.

Glad to learn that Noelle's story is coming up! I've liked the character since page 1. She's cute, funny, and unpredictably dangerous (which is probably why I like her).
I've read how Vicki sold her soul, but I've wondered about her life before that. I sometimes feel that she's trying to create (or re-create) a family she may have lost, or wanted and never achieved. (That's one reason I'm sympathetic to her situation.)
I just wonder what Jonathan's left behind, and how it affects him. He doesn't seem at all concerned about his family. He has been gone 8 months, and they must have noticed...

Though not in DCP, I have mentioned to those who have asked.
His home life wasn't very good, his parent split, and he has siblings. He wanted to get away, so he spend his last year or highschool transferred to another country. He is living on his own, so no one is really missing him.

Wow. Thanks very much. It helps me understand Jonathan better.
So being in Hell and risking eternal damnation, with Vicki, Noelle and Caley all caring about him, he has more of a family than he had before... Hmmm.
People who love you AND torture you. They sound like a normal family to me. (But with cooler clothes and all those playthings!)

Wait, she doesn't remember her old life? Well, I guess giving up one's soul is more than just a change of address after all.Β

Well it was +60 years ago. Her memory only has so much space.

That's true, I suppose she was young, and given her new lot, all of that information has become completely irrelevant. Hard to remember that she's technically a granny. I still think it casts a starker shadow on this whole "soul selling" deal than might have otherwise occurred to a lot of people, who may have seen it, essentially, as a weird career path in a strange foreign country. But, if things in hell are such that by staying there forever, you will probably loose track of your entire old identity, it makes John's resistance a lot easier to sympathize with even without knowing what his life was like back on earth. It's not just giving up on what he wanted to do/be on earth, it's giving up entirely who he was back on earth, and letting Vicky fill in the blank space. Actually, it makes me want to ask, would the same thing necessarily happen to Jon, given his Teflon soul condition?Β

Then you also have to think of all the souls that were sold and have no chance of going back.
How would they try and resist, knowing what they mistakenly given up. Realizing they are forever a sexslave, that is their future.

Yeah, I figured as much that the one's who don't take to their new environment as well as Vicky's retainers (Which I assume would be nearly all of them) eventually snap and get their identities re-built from the ground up. I had always figured that was the process that was being alluded to when "breaking" a sub is mentioned. The very same process that Jon is apparently immune too, if i'm reading it correctly. Noelle apparently gave herself up rather quickly, but even still, most of the slaves around her, even those of a benevolent mistress like Vicky, could probably,if one subscribes to a David Hume inspired subjective theory of consciousness and identity, not even be considered the same people who originally lost their souls. Even if she enjoyed the attention that Vicky gave her, being in that kind of environment would still seem really creepy, and that alone would be a significant strain on the psyche. I mean, Jon, in spite of his superficial spinelessness, seems to be a resilient man even without the benefit of his pain-and-trauma filter. Someone else, maybe someone like Noelle could conceivably have given in during one of those strained "almost" moments that have have occurred along the way, in spite of their own misgivings, and then, would have been left with those same misgivings after they became useless absent any way out. So, even though she was, eventually, going to be fine, Noelle could have still felt tremendous pressure to forget her past out of postmortem cold feet. For all I know, that could be the reason that Vicky banished her slaves, because apart from Noelle, who she kept, there were still parts of the rest of them who didn't want to be there even though they had found ways to be content, day by day, and therefore they didn't love Vicky the way she actually wanted her subs to love her. Just a crazy guess, of course. Pardon me if that was all a bunch of stating the obvious from your point of view, I just love to over-analyze anything and everything. Β

I dunno, that theory just appealed to me, because, while some people are hoping that Jon stays, and some are hoping for him to return to earth, I'm hoping that in the end, Jon ends up being the key to some kind of Hell reform that turns the lower planes into the fetish wonderland that they superficially appear to be, instead of the sex-flavored eternal damnation that it most likely is for the vast majority of subs, who are not lucky enough to have a dom like Vicky, and perhaps a small handful of her vassals who admire her enough to emulate her training style. I presume that the majority lie somewhere between Vicky and Lilith on the Love/Hurt continuum. I thought I saw a pattern, with him choosing to go into the pony wardrobe himself, and designing his own gender-bending formal attire, that he's starting to own his submissiveness in a way that he wasn't before, and I extrapolated from that. Though, I guess that doesn't explain the whole Citoria business.Β

Aw... Panel 2 is SO CUTE! (And Panel 1) And with Jonathan like this Noelle gets to show him some real affection.
About her not remembering her past - what interests me is
* She knows she's forgotten some of it - and it's something major like whether she had a brother, but -
* It doesn't bother her - she's perfectly fine with that.
Hope you'll explore this a bit more in a later chapter!

Either way, I hope they dress him up as Joanie before turning him back. Baby Joanie seems like it would cute
