Description
Getting off the train and moving into the rain there was a small grin as she though how her friend offered an umbrella an hour ago that she turned it down. The walk home normally took about ten minutes at her normal quick pace up the slight incline, and the soft drizzle never slowed her down. People where all around her heading for home as she was. All seemed to race each other as if to race without running. Cars bussled around and bikes weaved in and out to make their own road. The air was brisk, though wet, with the winter air that quickly tingled on her white cheeks, changing them a rosy pink.
It came back, that nightmare, steeling her grin. It could never happen, such harsh rejection about her passion and shunning of her best friend. She knew if she called her name loud enough she would hear and come running, even across the ocean. And with all the encouragement she received every day, why could she even think of such rejection? But, it didn't help the nightmare felt more like a memory.
One came down.
And that stupid book. She should have known better then to read a for sure sad story today. They aren't even real, but when bags hung on the handles of the heart it really didn't matter.
And then two.
This feeling had no foundation and yet she couldn't let it be. Family, friends, future all so far away, so she tilted her head down and let her large rimed hat hide her face. No one could see the small crystals of life fall from her sore eyes or her bite her lip to keep from making a sound. Her hands cerled around her blue mug, given to her by her mother, till they turned red and white from cold and grip.
No one would see, she assured herself, and if they did, not one would care.
The walk took twenty minutes that night.
The next time you see someone hurting, send them a prayer if you won't say anything to them. God will care for them.

I like the concept and piece in general, I am turned off by the very obvious pencil marks, I look forward to watching your art improve.
Can I suggest one of those stumps of paper used for blending? I may be wrong but I assume the purpose of those is to make such lines much less visible if at all.
Keep drawing

for pencil pieces, yes, but not colored pencils. I have a blinding pencil, but such lines, like for this picture, is done intentionally to bring out an emotion. I don't always use them. Besides, they dull the color and my scanner does that well enough on it's own x.x
but thank you. I am learning to smooth out colors by using markers as the base color. I don't always do that, even now, but I enjoy the crisp look it gives.

Wonderful reminder. I think I will do that more often. Sometimes I'm afraid to talk to people, in case I make their pain worse. If they accept my help, I help. If they don't, then I will do this. I never thought about it before. That was bad of me! XD I've done this for people I know, but now I will ask for those I don't know. Wonderful picture. Love the message and the coloring you did. Nice emotion in it and everything.

I have never asked someone I never knew, but I am thinking maybe I should... Knowing how I really wished someone would have asked that day I felt so emotional and abandoned (it's a little hard where I am now since I don't speak the lang. very well).
Thanks for such the kind words and the favorite! wow, thanks alot ^.^!!

Me either. >> I am too. After the Sweeney Todd movie there was a woman crying outside of the woman's bathroom. I wanted to ask her, but I was afraid I'd make it worse. Plus I was dressed up as Sweeney and I didn't want to scare her. >>
yeah, you have a point. I think I will get up the courage and do that next time I see someone in distress. Even if I don't know them or favor them.
You're welcome.
Thanks for talking with me. X3

I really love the story! It goes well with the picture!! I also like your drawing NOT just cause it reminds me of an Asian girl (Yes, I'm Asian) but, the part that it's a bit like realism & how the coloring scheme goes very well with it!!

reminds you of an asian girl? *head tilt* really? It's the hat isn't it? Or is it something else? Mah... I'm turning Japanese... x.x
Wow, thanks so much for coming back an commenting. It means alot to me. This coloring style is meant for emotional impact, not a nice finishing touch, though it is aiming for realism as well, since I like that form the best ^.^;; Thanks again!! The story was there before the drawing, though written after.

hmmm... wow, I guess it is. When i think of impressionistic I often think of painting, not a colored pencil piece, but I think you are right. Wow! I'm an impressionist!! *happiness!*

The story makes the drawing's "surrealism" put into proper perspective.
Nice emotion in the drawing too!
