Jack-in-the-box concept. Thought it would make quite a nice minimal wall... and I haven't done a robot model in a while.... so yeah.LightWave + Photoshop.

alot of detail and work went into this piece............
love the way te relections look off jack's metallic body.........
and the white negative space is used very nicely.......i'm puttin this up as my desktop wallpaper fer the next couple of days!

that is entirely amazing!
expecially the reflections on the head of the jack.
the only thing i can find that doesnt really make sense is the lid to the box...both flaps look like they could completely cover the top of the box.

One thing I noticed is that the lids are the same size as the opening. This would not work you need to shink up both of the lids so that they would both fit over half the opening. Another thing that would be cool is to maybe add a latch or lock to one side of the lid showing that it was contained in their. Either that or add the tipical jackinthebox handle.
All in all good work but it's not done yet

The lid flaps cover just over half the box width... and without the large hinges, they are exactly half. The render angle is tricking you. I added the hinges last (for some reason) and they reduced to the hole space.... so the flaps aren't as fitting as they should be. I didn't actually realize it until after the render. But I agree about having a latch... that's a good idea.
