Following on from this
Having calmed down the black mare and run her stirrups up so they wouldn't frighten her any more, John retrieved Harap from where he had been patiently waiting and found himself with two horses to deal with.
He looked around to see if there was any sign of a rider on foot or other horse riders looking for the mare. He could see nothing in any direction.
Hara looked very confused at the arrival of the lost mare and wasn't too sure about her but he behaved impeccably despite giving the stranger a couple of funny looks. He really wanted to know why his favourite person had stopped their morning's exercise and when were they going to continue and do some jumping?
Bunny crept up quietly to have a better look at the new horse now she wasn't a flailing mass of hooves and teeth.
