Description It was another late evening at Leon’s Restaurant & Bar, my personal watering hole.  I knew the bartender when she first started, good kid, Amy always gives me a free drink on the house, though I suppose I make up for it with my generous tips.  Tonight I was with another one, her name was Kathy, she had a tattoo going down her left arm of a dragon fighting a snake, some crazy oriental thing, she also had a piercing in her right eyebrow, a plain stud with a skull etched into if you look at it just right, looks like a fish to me, but it’s nice all the same.
After a few rounds of drinks Kathy had to use the restroom, though I admit I do miss it when they say “powder my nose”, I laugh at the thought of Kathy saying that.  “What’s so funny” Amy asks as she pours me a glass of wine.  I raise the glass as if to toast it, and reply bitterly “It’s that hair or yours, you look like a fucking peacock with it up like that.”  “Glad you like it,” she says with a smirk, “I’ve been trying out this new look and I’ve been dying for your approval.”  We both exchange a few laughs before Amy finally asked me the question I bet she’s been holding in for years.  “What’s with her pops?  I see you here every week with some new girl, always covered in tattoos and piercings, and none of them look a day over twenty-five.  You’re rounding sixty, haven’t you ever thought about settling down or something?”
“What is that?  A proposal?  I’m sorry Amy, but it’ll never work out, though I can’t say I never thought about it.”  I start laughing as Kathy comes back from the “powder room” and I get up, finish my glass of wine, and leave my oh-so-generous tip behind.  “See you next week!” I shout back to Amy as I’m leaving.  A taxi pulls up to the door and we drive off to Kathy’s place, I walk her to her door.  Amy’s words echoed in my mind as I kissed her goodnight, and decided to go home instead.
As I come home, I found it empty, just as it always was.  I pour myself another glass of wine to help me sleep.  I later found myself wandering through my own house, in my seldom used study.  A small trinket box was left open, my empty wine glass next to it, and in my hands an old photo of a handsome young man in his twenties, grinning proudly at his new Harley, and behind him, holding him so tenderly, a young woman, barely taller than his shoulders, smiling coyly at the man.  I regain my composure and place the photo next to tiny old box, whose felt was nearly worn off.

I like, very well done. Only issue I had was that it wasn't immediately apparent that Kathy was the man's date. I had thought that Kathy was a different bartender.

But otherwise, very nice.

I'll make a note of that, had I done this earlier, I could've fixed it before I turned it in.

Btw, one other girl did it on the same guy and third person showed up late, so I don't if someone wrote about you or not.

ALSO, THE PROTOMEN: ACT II IS OUT TODAY! I'll get you a copy on our next session.
