Description
My design for the MCU Spider-Man. I kept the style codes of the MCU artists like Andy Park, but made it my own. I kept in mind what Kevin Feige said about the character : a teenager/young adult, already a superhero, but who doesn’t have the money and means to get a proper costume. Didn’t want to do a homemade costume that much, so I went in concept with some kind of sports tight material that he can find in stores or online, customized to look like a costume. So the webs are printed, but the logo is added material. The gloves start at the wrist, the part on the sleeves is part of the suit, not the gloves. You can see a separation between the pants, the shirt, and the cowl. His eyes are white lenses. I wanted to keep the symbol on his back blue, because it’s too heavy and distracting when it’s red. We don’t see it here, but he has web shooters attached to the wrists. The core idea was a costume like he has in TASM 1, but more affordable, something he can easily buy, and THEN customized to his needs. To give you an idea, his costume would kinda look like Pietro’s shirt in Age of Ultron, with less texture maybe.
What do you think ?

Not a bad concept at all, and I could see this, with a little tweaking, easily becoming a Ben Reilly Spider-Man suit. Nice touch with it being customized athletic gear.

Almost ^^. I noticed as well lol not to brag. There are big differences, mostly that the movie one is much closer to the comics. But it's similar to mine in the modernity and MCU design elements. Guess I have a good understanding of how the MCU costumes are designed, by now lol. And I prefer the movie version, anyway . Better than mine, obviously. Do you like the movie design ?

I write stories and stuff, and my idea of the MCU costume had the same concept as yours with athletic clothes that are turned to a costume by Peter. It's great to see it, because I had the concept but no idea of what my costume would look like. This is great, I really like it, and it looks like something actually homemade but not departing from the fact that it is a costume, a Spiderman costume.

Thanks. My idea exactely. Just because it's homemade doesn't mean it has to be a hoodie or something. And Peter is a builder, so he likes to make stuff up, to create. It's not that hard nowadays to find a store that prints the designs you give them on shirts or pants. May be expensive, but not in thousands either. Glad you like it and that we had a similar design in mind.

An interesting idea. And I like the Ben Reilly Spidey reference with the boots.

Yep, Reilly and House of M Spidey are among the best costume for me. And technically in my design he doesn't have boots It's part of the pants' design, just like the sleeves. It's full pants covering the feet as well. I hesitated to give him sneakers of some sort, but it's was maybe too much of a departure, in addition to the gloves. I wanted it to be an affordable costume, but not too homemade. It still has to look like a costume.
