Software used: ApophysisI feel like screaming, I want to fly but something's holding me.
EDIT February 15, 2012: On the concept.
Many people find the concept dull or not very original.
It "just" expresses my current state of mind. I have autoimmune thyroid disease which affects my daily life.
I say I wish to fly but actually I want a lot less. I just want to be healthy and strong again.
So the shapes basically describe the longing to be free and the illness that holds me. Colors are mix of resignation and fierce anger.

looks very preety, i love how the purlpe flows together nicely with the other ambient colors. it feels mellow yet calm at the same time. the design reminds me of a flower. at any rate excellent job~

The colors in this are really striking, and blend harmoniously together to give a sense of light and transformation. There's a great balance of bright colors and contrasting shadows, too, which makes the design clear and pleasing to view. I don't know that it really gives a sense of "flying," though; words that come more readily to mind are "flow" or "erupt." There's motion in this picture, but so many curving lines make it seem slower, more deliberate, whereas straight lines might create a sense of immediacy? Also, the piece as a whole is definitely oriented with an "up" and "down." The lower of the two lights pulls at the rest of the picture and anchors it, particularly with that large, conspicuously smooth arc almost diving to meet it. The focus is therefore more toward the bottom of the piece, which becomes the "ground." Perhaps if the long lines around the silver/ teal pathway there curved up instead of downward, or radiated out from the smaller light rather than seeming to contain it?
