Software used: ApophysisI feel like screaming, I want to fly but something's holding me.
EDIT February 15, 2012: On the concept.
Many people find the concept dull or not very original.
It "just" expresses my current state of mind. I have autoimmune thyroid disease which affects my daily life.
I say I wish to fly but actually I want a lot less. I just want to be healthy and strong again.
So the shapes basically describe the longing to be free and the illness that holds me. Colors are mix of resignation and fierce anger.

well, someone commented just yesterday that fractals are only "pretty pictures" with no feelings in it but I think that it really depends on the author... I didn't really care about this matter until recently, I felt the need to put some higher purpose to my fractals then just "being pretty"... So I'm glad that I managed it in this fractal

it is very beautiful and thought conveying. the colours and lighting resonate a feeling when i saw it, even before i read your comment. i usually do read fractal artists' comments, even if i don't know much about fractals, because i find them a source of interesting intelligence. i found out that someone actually managed to get a commission to do a fractal on the ceiling of an office, so that's really cool too!^^,
haha, yeah, i get much the same thing from some people who told me they would never have thought that anime or manga style can be a form of emotive art at all. i am like, the person has obviously never been to DA or any other art website...what a loss

manga is in some ways overrated and in others underrated. most of the manga pictures on DA are just some pretty girls with big boobs and they are very popular, but it seems to me that only people who fav these are some guys which are like "omg boobs instant fav"... so it's very refreshing to meet an artist like you because your manga style pictures are so much deeper and thought-provoking

you are making me blush, thanks. i think it's because, i try to convey a feeling when i draw, and not just the graphics.
am not sure i recall the artist's name, but i do recall that the building has paneled windows for its lobby

It's so beautiful, I cant look away. I'm almost speechless. The colours have beautiful, rich depth. The strong, crisp lines and curves, give it a amazing warmth. The shadows and tones, contrast each other so well.

This is a very beautiful piece. Its style (your style in general) has a very strange sense of presence to it, too; indeed, a curious materiality. I feel like I want to get closer to it; like I want to touch it, just to satisfy the tactile echo that the sight of it provokes. What a wonderful gift. Yes, you might not be able to fly in the physical sense, but that, after all, isn't the only kind of flight.
