Software used: ApophysisI feel like screaming, I want to fly but something's holding me.
EDIT February 15, 2012: On the concept.
Many people find the concept dull or not very original.
It "just" expresses my current state of mind. I have autoimmune thyroid disease which affects my daily life.
I say I wish to fly but actually I want a lot less. I just want to be healthy and strong again.
So the shapes basically describe the longing to be free and the illness that holds me. Colors are mix of resignation and fierce anger.

You might get this all the time, but... how often does it take you to do one of these?

From time to time someone asks and it's tricky to answer. It's pretty much the same as creating a painting, one can take a few hours, one can take a few months.
This one took about a month. For quite a long time I was unable to finish it, I had a vision of what I wanted to create but I needed a proper emotional inspiration.

It's a very composed piece. I like it a lot. I can definitely relate to what you say about needing that boost of inspiration on an emotive plane to get one to completion of this kind of art piece, even though it may be belated in perpetuity. I find that strange, because some of the software that you've used seems to utilize what I think are codes to generate those type of visual and bit to byte images and calculations, no? I may be mistaken and it may be my naΓ―vetΓ© as well in regards to this type of design by expression as I can best articulate it.
I thought the program might be interesting to thee because of the fact that these algorithims from different people's stations around the world promote synthesis and humanistic principles towards the visual animations created: new geometric artifice constantly evolving and changing... You are a good artist in regards to this type of lush and potentially boundless expression which I've seen pop up quite a bit on this site with regards to popularity recently... l8t8.

Well, Apophysis itself doesn't allow to render an animation, I need some other software to do that and when I've tried to work with it, it was too confusing and time-consuming, so I gave it up. I might try it out again after finishing my degree because now I really manage just to study, work and sleep...

I see what you mean. Good luck with your degree. The work involved in some of your pieces seem to bespeak a meticulous work ethic and I assume you take it with the same degree of seriousness for your studies? I can understand and respect that. I'll keep up with you as I can; you definitely have some of the more cooler pieces in relation to fractals that I've come across here on the site. Peace.
