I am absolutely addicted to the feeling of your pieces - the brush strokes: their motion, the light and dark. I especially love how the face is more detailed then the rest of him - making your eyes zero in on that and leaving the rest of his body as an extension of his suggested mood and intent. The red lighting is especially effective for that sinister feel to his "emotionless' emotional face.
That's how I see it anyway. Simply beautiful.
Oh and although I love all incarnations of our Will, the Will that has embraced his inner darkness is my favorite.

I really appreciate that you stopped by and left such great and thoughtful comments. Thank you.
Yes, dark, dark Will...he's so there, so always ready to be manifest... that's the thing about his face - he always looks like he's on the brink of a nervous breakdown, naturally. Great acting, of course, but that Will face - wow, this man brought with him some very interesting expressions. The paint strokes catch that which cannot be photographed. Isn't that a wondrous thing about art?
Thank you, again.

Wondrous indeed. Paintings have this ability to marry with your imagination and come to life, capturing the essence - the senses - of a moment and instilling it a single piece.
It's funny really - Will so often has this look of being on the edge of something terrible (mania, darkness, depression, a million other things) throughout the entire series, that it becomes this funny kind of 'norm' that simply exists. It's only when you stop and think a bit - or see Hugh Dancy speaking as himself - that you realize what sort of tremendous skill it takes to sustain that kind of air in every single scene. It's really amazing.
Of course, I adore Hannibal and the skill he's acted with, but I feel as if Will - in comparison - lacks true acknowledgement for the aforementioned factor.
And I cannot for the life of me understand how they have not already won awards for their acting, either.

That Bryan Fuller was able to see into Hugh Dancy's body of work a "Will" is an act of genius, because Dancy - though very good - has always been fluffy and romantic, the heartthrob, the super pretty peach...how he ripped Will from his own thread is damned near miraculous. His performance is devastating. He grows throughout the two seasons, though he becomes the new sex symbol in season 2...season 1 is for Mads. This was the introduction to the world: Mads Mikkelsen is the weirdest and most disturbing actor you'll ever see - and you will fall in love and lust with him before you know what hits you. S1 is the introduction to the extreme oddity that is Mads. S2 is where Dancy's seduction takes over everyone's libido.
I created only minimal art during S1. When S2 began, I became compelled.

There you are, my faithful commenter friend! Thank you.
Ah, yes, you see what I intended, I'm glad. All of it, all that you said...inside Will, there are flames. He is the cool package of all that Lecter Hell, he knows it and he embodies it now. He's known cruelty and he's eaten it, devoured it ....and now he has become a part of it. He could be waiting for Hannibal - or he could be waiting for you, his next patient - he's taken over the practice, he's the Doctor now....
As always, thank you.
