Description
A fansketch of the Godzilla franchise; this one shows the irradiated pterosaur Rodan that debuted in 1956 as a horror film. In 1964, a sole-surviving Rodan emerges and wrecks havoc, battling Godzilla. Mothra Larva stopped the two quarreling kaijus to fend off King Ghidorah and they were victorious. In 1965, Godzilla and Rodan encountered King Ghidorah again when the Xiliens attacked. In the Showa serie set in the futuristic year of 1999, Rodan lived together with his fellow kaijus on Monsterland in peace. In the Heisei series in 1993, Rodan was gifted with a uranium heat ray, earning his new name Fire Rodan. In the final conflict, a weakened Rodan gave his energy to Godzilla, therefore letting the Kaiju King beat Mechagodzilla II. In the 2004 reboot Godzilla Final Wars, Rodan was one of the many Kaiju to be let loose into the world, being mind-controlled by the Xiliens. After his attack on New York, Rodan was sent to apprehend Godzilla with the help of Anguirus and King Caesar, but all three ended being beaten down by the Kaiju King and were left spared. In the 2019 Godzilla, King of the Monsters film, Rodan was released from Monarch Outpost 56 in Isla de Mara, Mexico. After King Ghidorah was defeated, Rodan and the other kaijus accepted Godzilla as their new Alpha. Rodan did also appear in the 2021 anime series Godzilla: Singular Point. Rodan can fly at mach 4 with category 4 hurricane winds, emit radioactive smoke and a uranium heat beam from the mouth, and can withstand volcanic heat.
