Description
Welcome to my first fakemon line in years, i think at least in 5 years.I love customized things so maybe i'll start calling them something cooler than "fakemon" someday but for now let's leave it like that.
> Stone type is just the same as rock type, but i like how it sounds better
> I won't use Bug type for my creations. I don't like how it fits among the other types that are more elemental based. I mean, it is a taxonomic classification, so you'd expect all horse pokemon to have "Equine" type...
I know it sounds natural since we're used to this, for the last 20 so years, but nah, never clicked with me.
This line is based on Amblypygi and on Stalactites
ARACTITE
(aracnid - petit [fr.: little] - stalactite)
Type : Dark/Stone
Weight : 10kg
Height : 5cm to 30 cm
Ability : Puncture : When HP is lower than 50% the first physical attack will fail and the foe will be stung, dealing more damage the highest its HP
Description : ARACTITE are born deep in the caves, from the eggs laid by CALCARANA, which are positioned under dripping limestone to solidify and prevent attack from other - canibalistic - young CALCARANAs. They must pierce through the egg shell with the single tiny spike they have from birth. This same spike is used for defense, as their bodies aren't fully developed yet. They're not poisonous, however, legend has it that people who ventured inside the caves inhabitted by this pokemon and were poked by them started turning into stone until they reached sunlight again. They sit over dripping rock formations to help their bodies grow bigger and stronger, preparing for evolution. Not so long ago scientist were sure they were completely blind, and the body part where the spike is was also it's head, they then discovered it has one eye, hidden in between it's limbs, that can sense infrared light.
-ARACTITE evolves into CALCARANA reaching lvl 50 -
CALCARANA
(calcario [pt.: Limestone] - Aranha [pt.: Spider])
Type : Dark/Stone
Weight : 200kg
Height : 1m to 3 cm
Ability : Solidify : When HP is lower than 50% and paralizing moves are used, the item Paralize Heal won't have any effect
Description :The baton-like structures behind their legs is actually a rescending pair of limbs as well, some malformed specimen still have very long appendages in their place, which are used to tap the surface of the dark chambers, but it became obsolete after they developed their rudimentary infrared vision. In the early months after evolution it adopts a cannibal behavior, which is explained as nutrient compensation for the drastic growth in their bodies. More experienced CALCARANA will often eat moss or fish species who live in the same habitat as them. Both ARACTITE and CALCARANA start loosing their green hue and becoming a duller shade of grey when exposed to sunlight for too long. Their front limbs complement their jaws, as the CALCARANA are able to chew with the "teeth" located in them.
That's it for now, hope you enjoy them and i'd appreciate if you share your thoughts about them

Amblypygi is a cool inspiration for a fakemon and you did a great job with it.
Also, I've had the same issue with Bug as it type. The other types are more about what type of powers or element of nature is associated with a Pokemon but Bug doesn't really fit.

Thank you
Yup, i find it counterintuitive as well
plus i'm adopting two or three fanmade types so i didn't want to have conflict where i'd need 3 typings for a single species

They are Dark/Rock i change some type names, like for example i name my flying types "sky type" but essentially they remain the same. It''s just an arbitrary choice, i see "rock" as more related to boulders, and things you'd find on the ground, while "Stone" is more of its own thing, you can have a precious stone, be turned to stone... and have a kidney stone for that matter, so it looks more rounded to me as a classification
Of course, this is just a personal opinion and i'm not claiming it's more functional, just my preference
