Cinder Goldenleaf has spent nearly five years adventuring with her friends Odette , Fenn'thik , Zakrafein , Lyta , her brother Blaze and other members of her team. They were to destroy drow who had formed an alliance with evil cloud giants. It was no easy task, but the team managed to accomplish their mission!

During these years many of her companions met someone with which they fell in love. Cinder briefly had a crush on one of her team-mates, but that did not work out. After a while, Cinder simply assumed that she just didn't have a way with the opposite sex, and resigned herself to being on her own. Luckily since there is so much for the servant of a Elven God to do, she kept very busy and didn't feel lonely.

But now something very unexpected has happened! Cinder has met a young human man by the name of Calix Sarini. Calix is deeply intelligent, capable and friendly. He flirts with Cinder quite easily and readily asked her out on a date, and even offered her a room in one of his apartments while she was in town. Their talks together are very enjoyable, and Cinder finds Calix's knowing smile and dark hair very attractive.

It is wonderful for Cinder to suddenly have someone like Calix as a potential suitor... or at least it would be except for one thing - there's another young man trying to court her at the same time!
