lukeroberts In reply to burntlimbs [2006-10-22 14:59:57 +0000 UTC]

yeah it was a little grainy... i think it's the camera (yes, i'll blame the camera). I'm thinking of getting a 400D

Simple shot but an effective one =] Whats DPOF? I thought that was printing staight from camera =s

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lukeroberts In reply to J-Reeves [2006-10-04 05:26:22 +0000 UTC]

DPOF? that would be a typo DOF is "Depth of Field" (or Focus). A shallow DOF means only a small part is in focus and the rest all blurry.

Thats just awesome. Like, really awesome.

'Nostalgic' captures it perfectly.

It's actually making me incredibly home sick

Sorry I haven't written for so long, I've been sick.

Well done on these pictures, these ones and all the other ones that you have...

I dont know how you do it, but you capture so much more than just an image- and thats not something many can do! So, in that respect-- I am completely jealous of you. Well done. I'm impressed.

Thanks for including the link to the previous shot - it is fun to go back & look at our past and then re-create, isn't it. It's simple and fun and as others stated, your dof is fantastic. I always love how your compse your shots.

Lone-Wolf01 [2006-09-28 09:14:09 +0000 UTC]

The depth of field in this is fantastic, were you using a macro lens? My opinion would be to have focused on the line, leaving the entire (well most of) the clothes pin out of focus.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lukeroberts In reply to Lone-Wolf01 [2006-10-04 05:40:53 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad you like it I was just using a 50mm f1.8 lens, so i could get that nice, shallow focus. Thanks for the feedback too. Usually it's better to focus on the element closest to the lens with this kind of shot. That's where the eye goes to first (since the peg is the main focus of the photo), so if it was out of focus on the tip, the whole thing probably wouldn't look as good.

It's still good to experiment though and check to see how it would look
