Very roughly drawn and it was started quite a while ago now... but it was a little something I saw in my mind ages ago.

Well, if you don't have Flash, have you considered any other animation programs? I have noticed your gifs which look impressive so that could be an alternative. Or if not animate, then storyboard/animatics can be also be just as good! Ink Potts on youtube is a good example of that and I don't think they use Flash. ^^Β

Well those were with SAI and Gimp (thank you by the way! :3), and I don't think I'd want to make a large scale project with them...

You're welcome! And yeah it can be quite tedious drawing frame by frame with a raster based drawing program.
For free animation programs I would suggest Pencil or Synfig Studio. Either that or the 30 day free trial of Flash or Toon Boom. Other than that I would recommend using SAI or Gimp to draw each frame and then put it together on a video editing software like Sony Vegas or even Windows Movie Maker. (Might sound simple but it was how I used to do animations and it can work pretty well with patience!
