Tried to experiment with colors...but I'm not sure if it came very good...I don't know. What do you guys think...? Please put up a comment with criticism if you have the time.
By the way, I love to draw this guy...

This is wicked! I always try do do the shadowy affects but it never seems to come as good as this!

If you are curious, I use dark colors and soft/hard brushes and layers at a low opacity for the shadowy effects. Same thing with the eraser. I also merge layers often after I finish with them, make a new layer and just color everything on top. Rinse and repeat.
Sure, layers keep everything organized, but when I color over the layers it gives me more flexibility. If I depend on different, separate layers, I'd be stuck on a strict formula. Drawing loosely on top of layers can be tricky at first, but it is worth it. It just takes a lot of experimentation with the colors and practice.
Another tip: I did NOT use lineart for this. I started with a sketch, color, shaded, and put lighting under it. Then I colored over the sketch to make it look presentable.

It looks just like a traditional painting... it's just plain awesome! I love the dark color combination of red and black that made it more sinister-looking plus the hint of cuteness that was Dark Link!
