I think I'll keep calling him that. It looks like he's sitting on a giant pudding, after all and I think it'd suit him~
I ended up wanting to practice shading the muscles and the like, so I went for a really simple colouring style and didn't worry too much about cleaning up the lineart.

Well, the flukes turned out great.
I can see how you get the structures of the arms and legs... I am still rather clumsy at it. (need more practice) but getting over the fact that it is a process not a final product has made me want to make a larger effort in my drawings. (still got a long ways to go)

I think I know what you mean. Like, the image doesn't go straight to awesome (it took me a while to learn that, m'self. It's probably the reason I love walk-throughs so much), but rather has a series of steps that lead to the final product. Like, the very basic sketch, the sketch, lineart, base colours, shading and then the background. Or at least, that's how I think of the process... o_o;
Keep chuggin'! You'll get to where you want to be. I know I'm still learning, but if you need any help with anything I'm happy to help as much as I can.

Yeah... It looks so easy until you hold that pencil in your hand and then, it doesn't want to come out like the image I have in my head.
I haven't dared backgrounds yet. (a few lines)
I am still focusing on getting the subject.... I will move forward with those other ones later.
