Thank you!
I want him to wear the coat most of the time, but I thought he probably wouldn't wear it all the time, hence the need to draw what he looks like without it.

That's cool. The ragged coat seems more scarecrowish than just the waistcoat tho'

Thanks! I like how he looks without the coat too. I'll make it look a litlle more ragged.

Ah, nice - The one on the right is my fav, mostly due to expression and lack of vest and coat lapels. Looks more bare-bonesish. I like that you've kept his tie, which reflects the "Dr." title that he is so proud of. ^_^ I think I like the straight stitches over the mouth more than the zig-zags because it kinda reminds me of the mask that Dr. Hannibal Lector wears in "Silence of the Lambs". It also looks more like he tore the cloth himself. I mean, I know they're stitches, but at a glance it looks like he either tore the mouth open by maniacal screaming, or that it's not so much as mask, but his actual face. Oh, and the eyes aren't so soft on the right, there. It looks like's he zeroed in on something, and he's going to USE that pitchfork! Granted, I'm a huge personal fan of scythes, but the pitchfork makes a bit more sense to me, and I like it more.

Thank you for the comments!
Yeah, I can't imagine that he would be willing to let go of the prestige of being a Dr./professor so easily. He worked hard to get there and he is proud of that accomplishment. He also doesn't seem to care much about people knowing that he and Scarecrow are one and the same, so I figure his costume should reflect some of his former life. He really is just a scarecrow version of Dr. Crane.
I agree that the mask on the right is better. I totally didn't think of the Hannibal Lecter resemblance, but that is a good point! It definitely does add a new creep-factor to him.
I am keeping the coat, but my intention was not for him to wear it all the time. It's more of an outside thing. I've even toyed with giving him a scarf (whenever necessary).
I agree that the right one's eyes are much more intense, but I do like the ones on the left as well. He has the depressed, somewhat apathetic look that I usually picture Crane as having. However, I like the larger size of his eyes on the right one.
I like scythes as well, but I always draw him with a scythe so I decided to use a pitchfork this time. He will probably switch between that, a scythe, and sickles. He is a master of farm weaponry!

Wow... Master of Farm Weaponry! Actually, since I know White Crane, and so does he... Most weapons used in kung-fu are actually farm tools. When this law was passed, centuries ago, banning all civilians from having weapons, that's when hand-to-hand combat really flourished. The commoners needed some way to protect themselves. Also, since they DID have a lot of farm tools about (being mostly farmers) they simply developed styles around those tools. Asian sickles (called Kama, I believe) are still very popular weapons. You might try giving him some of those to play with. Seriously, look at all the kung-fu weapons out there, it's actually pretty impressive! ^_^ I'll bet he knows most of them.

Yeah, I'll look into it. I imagine he would take the time to study weaponry. I'm not sure how adept this Crane is at Kung Fu yet. It looks like just a relatively short period in time that he did know it.

Oh, wait - The vest is on the OUTSIDE... NICE! You should make a model sheet and color it, or something. ^_^

I like the suit jacket design. Pitch fork in one hand and a ratty tatty briefcase with fear gas or what not in the other hand. Taking the almost "normal" doctor look mixed with the scarecrow. Nice.

Thank ye! Yeah I was trying to keep some of his professor/doctor style while still making him look decrepit and creepy.
