Thank you! I always thought it added some kind of simple implications. Usually in portraiture classes they tell us "MAKE THEM HAVE EYE CONTACT" but the rest of our bodies can say so much more than our eyes.

I think there may be a sense of ambiguity, and it makes it all the more provocative by not adding the eyes, most of the time.
And sorry if I'm such a n00b, but what's portraiture? I don't take classes or anything xD. I'm just a street-smarts(orly?)n00b.

Haha. I don't take classes either. I just buy a lot of books. Portraiture is basically any artistic interpretation of the human frame.
