Description
I gave you my lovebut you don't have the time
you don't want, so throw it away
all you did was go to prom on my dime
a broken rose
my shattered dreams
you held me so close
I don't know what it means
you left me lovelorn and abused
you took all that you could get
and when I had nothing more to give
you would give nothing back
a broken rose
my shattered dreams
you held me so close
I don't know what it means
I still have your photo
and the lines you wrote

This really draws a picture in my mind, it's like i can see the event unrolling as a third party. To me your poem is being left hurt and shocked, I don't personally pick up anger, more surprise and a feeling like this emotion is new. It's actually quite song-like I think, too. Really nice work, and a beautiful title, it's what drew me to read this.

Yup. It's actually about my prom experience... kinda. I had been going out with this girl for a while, and after prom she dumped me. I had the feeling that it had been a onesided realtionship, and it was really new and painful to me 'cause she had been my highschool sweetheart. So, yeah, thanks.
I like the title too, though I think the poem/song itself doesn't really live up to the quality of the title thanks though.
