I had a brief window of a break, as I'm finishing up the first Shadowgirls miniseries. I've kinda been wanting to try a redesign of Ratchet, sort of incorperating aspects from all his designs and versions from over the years, sort of like I did with Bumblebee a while back. It's kinda funny... Between him and Ironhide's original G1 toys, I never had a problem with Ratchet having a window for a head, but I did with Ironhide......Probably because I owned Ratchet as a kid and I never had an Ironhide until the movie came out.

Going to the hat shop must have been pretty awkward for their toy versions. If your playroom had a hat shop that is!

This is sweet! It's kind of similar to War Within Ironhide. the design is definitely a great mix of all his designs over the years. It's just awesome.

Awesome redesign mate, and I like how he's got a broken head wing, like Animated Ratchet. Is the Cybertronian text on his wrench just a random choice of letters, or do they spell something?

Very nice! I actually like the windshield over the head. I figure it can act as a scanner/digital magnifier/ protection during battlefield surgery.

The windshield's a pretty practical idea. Much easier to clean off oil that sprayed from an open wound.

Good looking design. I never had that much of a problem with the Ratchet toy design. Despite the difference in how he looked from his amazing outings in the comic I still loved the toy to bits. So glad he got an Encore release last year.
