Description
redesigned adopt from stingersartKithara noticed something was terribly wrong with her when she started hurting herself using everyday electrical appliances. As a kid, she didn't comprehend what was going on, and injured herself on multiple occasions, a few times near death. It was only through vigorous training in martial arts that she was forced to learn in order to save her life that she was able to relieve her chronic muscle spasms, insomnia, and migraines. Her brass knuckles help relieve her pain and headaches.
Brass is actually not a very good conductor, but stronger conductors risked hurting others around her and were also harder to get ahold of.
Brass is just effective enough to draw the energy out of her and allow her to deal with it in small doses.
Kithara as a result is very standoffish, but is not really an angry or violent character at all. In fact, she is very loving and longs to help others. Her "power" makes it hard to do so, though. She is a very depressed person, and gets very lonely at times.
Fighting is all she really knows, and doesn't have any other hobbies. She doesn't particularly enjoy it, but she doesn't hate it either. It helps her relieve stress, pain and to her knowledge is the only way to help with her condition. She can't fight in tournaments in fear of seriously hurting other contestants, and doesn't feel like she can fairly compete, so she doesn't really have an outlet for her energy other than practice dummies.
Her parents are just as clueless as she is and sent her off when she was young to institutes everywhere trying to cure her. It didn't work. She was pretty much raised by her martial arts trainers and doctors. Her parents visited every now and then, but she felt distant from them. She doesn't hate them.
She actually hates being alone and just longs for physical comfort. She is also scared of it. It's complicated.
She lives alone and makes money by writing. Weird, huh? It doesn't pay much but she actually learns she enjoys it and her condition doesn't interfere in any way. She writes poems, short stories, and even anatomy books.

Aw man, she's quite an interesting character, both design-wise and concept-wise! :0 Poor Kithara, her backstory is quite depressing, though I do like the direction of which you took on the "Characters with Powers" trope~ It's not everyday you get to see characters who have trouble trying to control their powers. The assortment of drawings on this reference sheet really shows just how much trouble she has with her powers on a daily basis. :'c
On the matter of her design, I like how you've added tufts to her ankles, and her hairstyle goes very well with her fighter theme, even if she's neutral towards it. c: Her body patterns are quite nice, and she doesn't look as simple as you wanted her to look. XD

yeah i kinda have stayed away from "superpowered teenagers" because that is a heavily used trope AND TROPES MAKE ME NERVOUS because my whole thing is I don't want to be unoriginal and I stress about it 8)
I was thinking to myself "THIS IS AWESOME! SELF-HYPe!" then after uploading i was like "what if it's too much like frozen??"

I'm well aware. XD I'm guilty of having nearly all my characters experience little to no trouble with their powers, since half of them have no powers whatsoever and know a certain thing that those with powers can't do.
But but but you can never escape tropes :"c You end up using them regardless! It's not unoriginal to have tropes. XD It's all about how you play with them, such as how you have done with Kithara. You took a commonly used trope, and bent it into something that most would hardly think of doing to their characters. If anything, I'd say you have done excellent with that trope~ ;D

At least Kithara doesn't end up singing songs about "learning to control my powers" and create a castle made of electricity?? simultaneously over the course of her story. :'D

aw thats alright! just because I am RIDICULOUSLY picky with my characters doesn't mean that you have to be! It's all about having fun! I forget art is about that half the time XDD
sometimes i worry about being so original that i will make something just really WEIRD and too far from source content... especially with my dern sonic OCs

I still don't understand why do people give them human height when Sanik is like 1 metre/3 feet-ish tall :V
How in the world does a generic anime furry even look like?? X'D All I have known so far are "actual anthro" (which look realistic as flip :'V) and "cartoon anthro" (basically what you and I would draw bwahahaha).

Human anatomy for Sonic characters is so EUGH DX
I know I draw mine with a visible neck and longer body and shaped limbs instead of noodles, but not to the extent of having abs and weird muzzles and eugh DX It's so weiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiird

Adding curves to their limbs actually makes it easier to place where their elbows/knees and wrists/ankles are... or was it the other way around?
Normally I'd end up adding tufts of fur on their shoulders, elbows and shins to highlight that my characters have fur still lolol

I like most all the redesigns
save for Bunnie's. I was a massive fan of her very first design
it was the simplest, cutest, and most sonic-esque to me

That moment when I realise that I keep tabs on Archie Comics solely to see what has happened, rather than the changes that have occurred to the characters orz
I do know that I miss Antoinne's old design, cause holy heck, they simplified him a lot! Why did it have to be the coat! D;
They even changed Bunnie's backstory so that she got those cybernetics because of one of Eggman's raids instead of a robotiser doodad
I really need to find some time to catch up. A friend got me to read one of the issues because of Team Chaotix having the main spotlight.

there are good things about the reboot and bad things. mostly good, i dont like what they did to bunnie and antoine tho
honestly i would be fine if the original freedom fighters didnt even exist
they stick out rather poorly in my opinion
i mean sally looks hella better with her redesign but due to bad writing in the past i am bored with her concept entirely
