This is for the lovely =theCoin-operatedGirl for giving me a 3 month subscription! (lovelovelove)I was so very happy and just had to draw her something!
She requested something about Amanda Palmers song 'Astronaut' Its a really beautiful song but probably not as literal as I took it. But I really wanted to draw something on a map texture!
I also knew she liked rainbow hair.
This is my 3rd piece of art to be inspired by Amanda Palmers amazing skills.

I can totally get your piece and understand the emotion in it. But the thing is, I can imagine the art you made only working in one specific situation:
This is after the song, a good long time after the song, when Amanda/singer/narrator finally sits down, stops yelling, and lets go of the "astronaut" memories. This is when the singer/narrator of "Astronaut" empties his, her, or zir mind, and forgets all that's been told.
A mix of Damien Rice's "Rootless Tree" and "Astronaut." The aftermath of it all.
Maybe: "The Point of it All?" (you know this, come on, get the reference, Maddiox!)

she was like "this is one of the most amazing dresden dolls artworks i've ever seen" and really loved it. i had a feeling she found it on deviantart so i looked it up =]

I know! I was preeetty shocked. I got it with this one, Girl Anachronism and Half Jack drawings! n___n Opened up a WORLD of oppertunity for me. I've drawn an Amanda Palmer themed tarot card to got into the official deck! <3

Everything about this piece fits together so perfectly. There are a hundred things going on but none of the textures or colors seem to outshine the others. This is such an amazing take on the song, too ^.^ props maddie.

I like how it looks like she was holding on to the 'strings' tying him down, and it looks like she's just let go. I don't know the song, but it still looks awesome!

Fantastic! As soon as I heard that track I was instantly hooked.
I really like the map theme. That song reminds me of a failed long distance relationship, and to do something with maps is just perfect for how the song makes me feel.
