A fan recently asked about one of the craziest experiences in my modeling life. They were probably hoping it was some crazy sex-capade! lol. But one of the most pivotal things that ever happened to me was getting slapped by a photographer.

This was pretty early in my career and it was my first time working with this photographer. I won't say her name but she is an industry icon in Miami. She works with most of the top models and having a chance to shoot with her means your career is actually going places, so I was pretty excited!

The make-up artist warned me that the photographer was intense but that did not prepare me. This woman was an absolute nightmare in heels! She had started out a model, never managed to break into the big leagues and had turned to photography instead. She had a giant chip on her shoulder, she didn't like models, and she didn't give a damn who knew.

During the shoot she kept scolding me, yelling at me for throwing poses wrong, or not holding them long enough, or holding them too long. She kept saying that my facial expressions were all wrong and that I needed to look more mature or more coquettish. I was getting super frustrated and finally when she told me I needed to be 'demure' I was like "What does that even mean?"
