Chapter 1: Beginnings

An explosion rattled the air. Screams of millions of people rushed from buildings and onto the road as a giant shadowy cloud slowly formed muscular, spiked arms with hands that had razor sharp claws. As the cloud formed, its glowing white eyes shined and the mouth formed into one with long, sharp teeth that glowed like bioluminescence. Green, glowing liquid seeped from its mouth as it released an ominous hiss.

The monster watched as the people fled from it as it slowly began to transform. It opened its mouth to catch a mouthful of them and dove its head down. But then, a lightning bolt blasted onto the face of the developing creature. The monster looked up and saw small figures going towards it in the air like jets. From one of them shot a powerful lightning bolt and it caused the monster to roar. From below, several gadget covered humans and those in formal-like, frilly wear all grabbed as much innocent people as possible and sent them to safety.

The others that went towards the beast, they released an all-out attack to destroy the monster that was still prematurely formed. Warriors that looked like ages thirteen to a woman that seemed to be in her thirties, rushed to impale, poison, and electrocute the beast. The monster released a loud roar in response to the pain.

The monster attempted to eat one of the male teenage warriors on one of the buildings, but it vanished into shadow immediately. After that, it was bombarded with even more attacks, screeching furiously as it was weakening. The boy that disappeared in shadows was going downwards to it like an asteroid heading to Earth and immediately impaled his scythe on the head. What came next was a loud, painful screech.

A girl in purple flew into the air with her two friends. One on her right was more on the shades of blue and the other on the left was green based. They raised their weapons and shot it down onto the monster. What blasted from their power were the largest cetaceans alive made by the element they controlled.

All headed down onto the beast and when they made in contact with the creature, it created an explosion and it blew the cloud beast into nothing but black smoke. After that, the warriors then looked around for any trapped people and went to save them quickly.

From afar, a man that wore glasses, a red suit, and had a long mustache, watched the battle like it was a scene in a theater. He couldn’t help but feel curious.

What were these monsters? Who were those people that just obliterated the monster? Why are they here?

Whatever the man thought about, he couldn’t help but smile at this little thought of these new creatures. They managed to leave a large part of the city in ruins. Many people were killed and injured. These beasts were dangerous, and he liked it.

On his little ship, he flew away as the smoke from the city rose into the sky.

Sonic was out running as usual. He felt the warm sunshine and the cool breeze as he dashed passed trees, flowers, and bushes. Soon, his eyes rested on a small yellow fox and a tall, young woman who wore a dark blue tanktop with red flames. She wore dark gray pants and her shoes were similar to Sonic’s, but black and gray. She wore black gloves. And from what Sonic knows, she’s an angel from another world. He ran towards them, soon sliding into a stop afterwards.

“Hey, Tails!” Sonic greeted. “Sophie!”

“Hey, Sonic!” the young woman greeted back.

“Sonic!” Tails said. “Thank goodness I found you! I almost thought you died!”

Sonic just laughed when he heard that like it was a joke and said, “Died? I would never! Not after that time when we were in Soleanna!”

“But this one is serious!” Tails said, snapping Sonic out of his laughing fit. “Haven’t you heard? Monsters just attacked a city!”

“Monsters?” Sophie asked, sounding curious and suspicious at the same time.

“Sounds like ol’ Eggman on his schemes again. Can’t wait to come back and beat his little pets to the ground.”

“Maybe it is part of Eggman’s scheme, but he seems to have gone more violent. The monsters destroyed a small proportion of the city it attacked, but left many dead. Speaking of which, the ones who defeated the monsters were... teen and young adult superheroes or something! I don’t know about you, but I think that seeing this many superheroes in one battle means that something is going on.”

“Really?” Sophie asked.

“Wow,” Sonic remarked. “Superheroes? This is new and interesting.”

“What kind of superheroes?” Sophie asked.”

“I don’t know yet,” Tails replied. “But anyway, we gotta get back. Rumor has it those monsters could be anywhere.”

“Well, then come on!“

Sonic dashed off as always and his friends followed close behind.

Eventually, the three reached the city and found that it was an absolute mess. Craters were made, concretes were cracked, and buildings were either fallen or destroyed.

“Jesus,” Sophie mumbled, eyes widened from the amount of damage done.

“Wow,” Sonic remarked, “Eggman really done it this time. It’s been a while since I’ve seen his evil deeds bring a whole city into ruins.”

“He sure did,” Tails replied. “Looking at it really gives me the creeps.”

Sonic, Sophie, and Tails took some time to walk around and eventually, they spotted something on one side of the street. Two girls, both seemingly teenagers, were walking on the street. One girl was tall. Her hair was black and her bangs that nearly covered her face and the ends of her locks were dark purple. Her shirt, flats, and skirt was black and the chains connected to the skirt were gold. She wore dark purple socks. Her eyes were purple. Beside her was a girl who was a little more smaller. Her hair was blonde and tied into three ponytails. She wore a cream colored shirt with cartoony sparkles on it and yellow shorts. She wore gold-colored sneakers too.

The girl in pitch black and dark purple was talking to someone on the phone while the blonde girl was on her side, wondering what’s going on.

“Are they citizens of the city?” Tails asked. “They should’ve been evacuated!”

“Maybe,” Sonic replied, “but I’m more curious on why they aren’t very hurt. And also... why they don’t look very scared.”

“Hmm... maybe we can ask them to get some clues.”

“Good idea.”

Sonic went over to the girl pair, who noticed them the very second he came over. The girl in black and purple put her phone behind her and just like a cartoon effect, it disappeared. Sonic was a little curious on how she did it, but he didn’t have time to ask.

“Hey, you two!” he said. “What happened here?”

“An attack of monsters,” replied the blonde girl. “They invaded a majority of this city and some heroes managed to stop them.”

“You didn’t see some fat man with a long mustache, have you?” Tails asked as he went to Sonic’s side.

“No,” replied the girl with black hair and dark purple locks.

“So far, no fat man with long mustache,” said the blonde girl. “Just monsters in shadow. Besides, if he was involved, we might tell him off.”

“Or kill him if he’s a villain.”

Sonic looked at the teenage girl who responded first and swore he felt his body shiver at that glare. Tails too felt the same and hid behind Sonic, shaking a little. Sophie couldn’t help but feel a little creeped out as well. That’s quite a look that’s hardly seen on any teenager.

“Nisha!” said the blonde girl. “Shhh! That’s probably illegal here!”

“Hmph...”

The blonde girl chuckled nervously at the hedgehog and his friends.

“Sorry,” she said. “My friend here is very aggressive and is normally like that. Don’t mind her.”

“Okay,” Sonic said. “Well. Thanks for the info.”

“You’re welcome!” replied the blonde girl before she and the girl that still held the same glare walked off, passing by the three.

“Sheesh, someone’s woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” Sonic mumbled.

“Yep,” Sophie responded back.

“No kidding,” replied Tails. “So, Eggman wasn’t involved?”

“Maybe. He’s still my number one suspect. Maybe those two girls didn’t see him through this mess.”

“Maybe.”

“Speaking of which, who and what are the heroes?” Sophie asked.

“Oh,” Tails answered. “The heroes... Well, rumor has it that these heroes... wore dresses or something?”

“Dresses?” Sonic asked. “That’s a weird outfit for superheroes. I’d expect them to wear a cape or something.”

“Well,” Sophie replied, “There are these heroes called ‘magical girls.’ They are girls who pretty much wear dresses and skirts and fight evil like superheroes.”

“Huh.”

The kept walking and walking, shocked at the very sight of the city itself. It looked like a bomb has been blasted onto the buildings. Cars were out of place—on their side, upside down, crushed, and dented. Concretes looked like that the earth pulled itself apart, causing the massive cracks, and there were large scratches on some of the buildings, almost like that a giant animal had rampaged in the city.

“Whoa,” Sophie said.

“Claw marks,” said Tails. “Is this from another alien attack?”

“Well,” Sonic replied, “whatever it was, it must have been pretty ugly.”

And then, a second later, there was a loud explosion and a large puff of smoke erupted from behind a building, making all three jump in surprise.

“A monster attack!” Sonic said. “Come on, Tails! Sophie!“

And the blue hedgehog quickly dashed forward to where the explosion took place. Sophie sprouted her wings and jumped forth, flying with Sonic towards the area where the explosion took place.

“Hey!” Tails shouted. “Wait!”

And the yellow fox followed forth.

Suddenly, there was something that followed behind the fox, but was catching up. Tails looked behind him only to be met with a dash of purple light on his right.

Sonic was too busy running to see what was behind him, but when the figure slowly went to pass him, he looked at his right as well, he saw a face of a girl.

A teenage girl had glasses on. White diamonds were decorated on it. She has purple eyes, her hair shimmered brown under the light and at the end of her locks were dyed the same color.

Before Sonic could comment, the girl instantly thrusted herself forward in a much faster speed with wings that seemed different, but none of the three are able to get the details because she was fast.

Sonic doesn’t understand why, but that face looked... familiar. Like he met that girl somewhere.

Within a second, small, shadowy figures burst from behind the building. The girl in front instantly took out a small weapon and with one swish, it released large stalagmites with purple auras that either hit the shadowy creatures off guard or impaled them. The girl jumped from one of the stalagmites and threw herself into the air with her wings—the left one was black and bat-like, her right was white and feathered.

“Sonic!”

Sonic looked behind him and saw Tails getting chased by one of the shadow monsters. The blue hedgehog skidded into a stop and jumped forth and did a homing attack on the monster, making it suddenly disappear into nothing but black mist.

“What... What was that?!” Tails cried. “I almost got eaten!”

Another explosion happened and as the purple stalagmites disappeared into nothing but sparkles, there was a pair of girls that dashed in. The three were unable to tell since they went passed them on the rooftops so quickly. But there was a dash of black and yellow.

Sonic shielded his fox friend from anything that comes after them and Sophie stood nearby, getting ready to attack. Sonic glared at the shadowy monsters that came from behind the building and watched as flashes of many different colors took place.

But suddenly, Tails released a shout, “Behind us!”

Sonic turned around and saw the same shadowy monsters again, but was a lot bigger. They came closer and closer as they released quiet growls and hisses like animals. They snapped their jaws and licked their snouts. Sonic didn’t know why, but seeing them gave him a reminder to not try and attack. One move, and it’s all over.

Sophie growled and powered her fist with her magic. She looked around her and noticed that more monsters were surrounding her and her friends.

“Dammit,” she mumbled. “We’re surrounded!”

“Stay behind me, Tails,” Sonic ordered. And Tails obliged.

Before the two can react, beams of purple light and black shadow with purple auras rained down onto the creatures like a meteor shower. Sonic, Tails, and Sophie were left shocked at what they saw before they saw the same teenage girl slowly land on the concrete before them. Her wings had a purple aura and they both disintegrated, revealing her T-shirt that had a light purple or pinkish marking covered in light blue sparkles. The arm holes were extended into frilly, light purple, sparkly ones. She had a pearl belt above the skirt’s belt and a light purple bow with two tails laid on it. The skirt had a light purple, sparkly overskirt and under it was a knife pleated skirt that went from pink on top to dark indigo on the bottom as a palette.

Her socks were long and were black with purple outlines and had a cute, purple design on it that matched the markings on her white bands that covered her wrists. Her sneakers was a gradient from dark to light purple. Her shoelaces were pink.

The girl growled and placed her weapon on her pearl belt and created two spheres with her hands. Right hand created light and left hand created darkness. Then she brought her hands together that caused them to split into smaller pieces that were scattered and then in the form of a bullet storm, they hit the monsters and caused them to disappear.

The three who the girl protected watched in awe as her magic rained onto the monsters that came by, causing them to disintegrate immediately into black smoke. After all the monsters were destroyed, the girl turned to look at Sophie, Sonic, and Tails.

At first, the angel, hedgehog, and fox were a little intimidated. Sonic shielded Tails, who hid behind Sonic and Sophie went into her battle stance. But then, Sonic and Tails looked at the girl’s face more closely. Her skin color, her hair, her glasses. They suddenly felt like they saw a face like that before, but it was years ago, it was blurry.

“Are you okay?” the girl asked.

“Uhhh, yeah,” Sonic replied. “Thanks for saving us there.”

“You’re welcome,” the girl replied.

“Are you one of those heroes that we heard about?” Tails asked.

“Uhhh, yeah, I guess.”

“I heard from my friend here about ‘heroes in dresses,’” Sophie said. “Are you one of them?”

“Well, y-yeah,” the girl replied, hesitantly.

“So you’re one of those heroes!” Tails said.

“Yes. A magical girl. But... yeah.”

“I don’t know why,” Sonic remarked, “but I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere. Like we met before, but I don’t know. Maybe my mind’s being weird.”

The girl only released chuckles that sounded a little somber.

“Maybe.”

“Hey, Sophia!”

The girl jumped at that name and turned to see another girl, her age, hair was slightly shorter than Sophia’s, black, and had cyan locks.

“You get those three out while we deal with the others, okay?” asked the girl with the cyan dyed ends.

“Got it,” replied Sophia.

And the other girl disappeared behind the building.

The girl, Sophia, nodded and looked back at the two, who looked at her with shock. Sophie didn’t look too shocked as Sonic and Tails though.

“Sorry, hero duty,” she said. “Gotta get you outta here though.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” Sonic said. “Sophia?! As in...?!”

“No way..,” Tails said. “That couldn’t be the same Sophia... Is she?”

“Wait, you know her?!” Sophie exclaimed in shock.

“Yeah, we know her!” Sonic said. “We met when she was like... eight or something.”

Sophia looked at the hedgehog and fox in shock.

“You two remembered?” she asked. “Ha! How shocking! And yeah. I did meet them when I was a kid.”

“Wow, you’ve grown up!” said Sonic. “How is time so fast in your world?”

“Uhhhh, it’s just fast?” Sophia responded, shrugging.

Sonic laughed. “Wow. I feel like I met twins without evening knowing!”

“Huh?” Sophia asked, confused.

“Sophia,” Sonic said. “I would like to introduce you to my friend, Sophie. Sophie, Sophia. Wait, now I’m getting confused.”

The four burst into giggles before Sophie waved at the teenage girl. Sophia only giggled and waved back.

“Wow,” she said. “Sophia. Sophie. No wonder you said, ‘Twins.’”

Sophie giggled. “Yep! Anyway, yeah. My name is Sophie Geetman.”

Sophia couldn’t help but smile with a hint of shyness. “I’m Sophia Torres.”

BOOM!

Sophia looked up and Sonic and his two friends looked back to be introduced to the scene with a heavy cloud of black smoke rising from behind the building.

“Wow,” Sophia said. “I expected a worse monster to destroy.”

“Sophia,” Tails said. “What were those monsters?”

“Destructors,” Sophia replied. “They’re from my world. Created for the sole purpose of destroying, as its name suggests.”

“And you became that to fight those?” Sonic asked. “Sheesh. What did I miss?!”

“Hey, life just came to me faster than I thought so, yeah.”

“Sophia!” shouted a girl.

Sophia looked up and the other three followed. They saw the same two girls who walked the messed up street, but... wearing dresses.

The blonde girl with three ponytails was wearing a yellow dress and had large trumpet sleeves.

Nisha was wearing a black slit dress that had flower designs on the bottom shown by a purple gradient and a black veil behind her head. She was too far away for the three to see more.

“What are you doing?! Aren’t you supposed to save them?!”

“Nisha, it’s fine!” the blonde girl said. “Sophia probably met them when they were young. Besides, the destructor was good as dead anyway.”

“I didn’t meet the woman though,” Sophia replied, pointing to Sophie.

“Well, anyway!” the blonde girl said. “Just wanna let you know that Mrs. Wolf is expecting us today.”

“Okay!” Sophia replied.

And the two girls left the four alone. Sophia sighed.

“Sorry,” she said. “Nisha, the girl that looked like an undead bride, is naturally like that. And that blonde girl is Aileen.”

“Nisha looks scary,” Tails commented.

“I know. Even I get the creeps from that hellish glare.”

“Why does that remind me of someone?” Sophie mumbled.

But then, Sophia sighed. “Sorry, but meeting you guys have to end shortly. Like what Aileen said, I have a little meeting to go to.”

“Already?” Sonic asked.

“Sorry, but since destructors are attacking, I have to make sure I know their next location, so I have to go.”

“Well,” Sophie said. “A hero’s gotta do what a heroes gotta do. Right?”

“Right.”

And Sophia gave her two old friends and new friend a smile before she jumped into the air with her wings and flew off. As soon as the magical girl in purple left the three, Sonic sighed and started to walk.

“Well,” he said. “I’ve seen everything. Sophia is now a teenager and I’m still the same age, and I managed to befriend two Sophies.”

Sophie giggled. “Coincidence? I think not.”

Tails chuckled. “Well, at least we managed to find out a little more about the monsters and what the heroes are. Magical girls, like what Sophie said.”

Sophie chuckled. “Why didn’t you tell me about that one other Sophie, Sonic?”

Sonic shrugged. “She always left before I could tell you.”

“Oh.”

“That aside, since we know that those monsters... destructors... are hunted by magical girls, but we never got to ask if Eggman was a part of this.”

“I still think he’s behind this,” Sophie replied. “I mean, isn’t he always behind every little disaster?”

“True,” Tails replied.

“Anyway, let’s head back,” Sonic said. “Gotta tell the others about this.”

Sophie and Tails nodded and they quickly ran to find the exit of the city.

On one of the farthest buildings, Sophia was sitting on it, smiling as she stared at her friends. When she heard her name get called, she briefly looked back and quickly flew off.

“No kidding,” replied Tails. “So, Eggman wasn’t involved?”

“Maybe. He’s still my number one suspect. Maybe those two girls didn’t see him through this mess.”

“Maybe.”

“Speaking of which, who and what are the heroes?” Sophie asked.

“Oh,” Tails answered. “The heroes... Well, rumor has it that these heroes... wore dresses or something?”

“Dresses?” Sonic asked. “That’s a weird outfit for superheroes. I’d expect them to wear a cape or something.”

“Well,” Sophie replied, “There are these heroes called ‘magical girls.’ They are girls who pretty much wear dresses and skirts and fight evil like superheroes.”

“Huh.”

The kept walking and walking, shocked at the very sight of the city itself. It looked like a bomb has been blasted onto the buildings. Cars were out of place—on their side, upside down, crushed, and dented. Concretes looked like that the earth pulled itself apart, causing the massive cracks, and there were large scratches on some of the buildings, almost like that a giant animal had rampaged in the city.

“Whoa,” Sophie said.

“Claw marks,” said Tails. “Is this from another alien attack?”

“Well,” Sonic replied, “whatever it was, it must have been pretty ugly.”

And then, a second later, there was a loud explosion and a large puff of smoke erupted from behind a building, making all three jump in surprise.

“A monster attack!” Sonic said. “Come on, Tails! Sophie!“

And the blue hedgehog quickly dashed forward to where the explosion took place. Sophie sprouted her wings and jumped forth, flying with Sonic towards the area where the explosion took place.

“Hey!” Tails shouted. “Wait!”

And the yellow fox followed forth.

Suddenly, there was something that followed behind the fox, but was catching up. Tails looked behind him only to be met with a dash of purple light on his right.

Sonic was too busy running to see what was behind him, but when the figure slowly went to pass him, he looked at his right as well, he saw a face of a girl.

A teenage girl had glasses on. White diamonds were decorated on it. She has purple eyes, her hair shimmered brown under the light and at the end of her locks were dyed the same color.

Before Sonic could comment, the girl instantly thrusted herself forward in a much faster speed with wings that seemed different, but none of the three are able to get the details because she was fast.

Sonic doesn’t understand why, but that face looked... familiar. Like he met that girl somewhere.

Within a second, small, shadowy figures burst from behind the building. The girl in front instantly took out a small weapon and with one swish, it released large stalagmites with purple auras that either hit the shadowy creatures off guard or impaled them. The girl jumped from one of the stalagmites and threw herself into the air with her wings—the left one was black and bat-like, her right was white and feathered.

“Sonic!”

Sonic looked behind him and saw Tails getting chased by one of the shadow monsters. The blue hedgehog skidded into a stop and jumped forth and did a homing attack on the monster, making it suddenly disappear into nothing but black mist.

“What... What was that?!” Tails cried. “I almost got eaten!”

Another explosion happened and as the purple stalagmites disappeared into nothing but sparkles, there was a pair of girls that dashed in. The three were unable to tell since they went passed them on the rooftops so quickly. But there was a dash of black and yellow.

Sonic shielded his fox friend from anything that comes after them and Sophie stood nearby, getting ready to attack. Sonic glared at the shadowy monsters that came from behind the building and watched as flashes of many different colors took place.

But suddenly, Tails released a shout, “Behind us!”

Sonic turned around and saw the same shadowy monsters again, but was a lot bigger. They came closer and closer as they released quiet growls and hisses like animals. They snapped their jaws and licked their snouts. Sonic didn’t know why, but seeing them gave him a reminder to not try and attack. One move, and it’s all over.

Sophie growled and powered her fist with her magic. She looked around her and noticed that more monsters were surrounding her and her friends.

“Dammit,” she mumbled. “We’re surrounded!”

“Stay behind me, Tails,” Sonic ordered. And Tails obliged.

Before the two can react, beams of purple light and black shadow with purple auras rained down onto the creatures like a meteor shower. Sonic, Tails, and Sophie were left shocked at what they saw before they saw the same teenage girl slowly land on the concrete before them. Her wings had a purple aura and they both disintegrated, revealing her T-shirt that had a light purple or pinkish marking covered in light blue sparkles. The arm holes were extended into frilly, light purple, sparkly ones. She had a pearl belt above the skirt’s belt and a light purple bow with two tails laid on it. The skirt had a light purple, sparkly overskirt and under it was a knife pleated skirt that went from pink on top to dark indigo on the bottom as a palette.

Her socks were long and were black with purple outlines and had a cute, purple design on it that matched the markings on her white bands that covered her wrists. Her sneakers was a gradient from dark to light purple. Her shoelaces were pink.

The girl growled and placed her weapon on her pearl belt and created two spheres with her hands. Right hand created light and left hand created darkness. Then she brought her hands together that caused them to split into smaller pieces that were scattered and then in the form of a bullet storm, they hit the monsters and caused them to disappear.

The three who the girl protected watched in awe as her magic rained onto the monsters that came by, causing them to disintegrate immediately into black smoke. After all the monsters were destroyed, the girl turned to look at Sophie, Sonic, and Tails.

At first, the angel, hedgehog, and fox were a little intimidated. Sonic shielded Tails, who hid behind Sonic and Sophie went into her battle stance. But then, Sonic and Tails looked at the girl’s face more closely. Her skin color, her hair, her glasses. They suddenly felt like they saw a face like that before, but it was years ago, it was blurry.

“Are you okay?” the girl asked.

“Uhhh, yeah,” Sonic replied. “Thanks for saving us there.”

“You’re welcome,” the girl replied.

“Are you one of those heroes that we heard about?” Tails asked.

“Uhhh, yeah, I guess.”

“I heard from my friend here about ‘heroes in dresses,’” Sophie said. “Are you one of them?”

“Well, y-yeah,” the girl replied, hesitantly.

“So you’re one of those heroes!” Tails said.

“Yes. A magical girl. But... yeah.”

“I don’t know why,” Sonic remarked, “but I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere. Like we met before, but I don’t know. Maybe my mind’s being weird.”

The girl only released chuckles that sounded a little somber.

“Maybe.”

“Hey, Sophia!”

The girl jumped at that name and turned to see another girl, her age, hair was slightly shorter than Sophia’s, black, and had cyan locks.

“You get those three out while we deal with the others, okay?” asked the girl with the cyan dyed ends.

“Got it,” replied Sophia.

And the other girl disappeared behind the building.

The girl, Sophia, nodded and looked back at the two, who looked at her with shock. Sophie didn’t look too shocked as Sonic and Tails though.

“Sorry, hero duty,” she said. “Gotta get you outta here though.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” Sonic said. “Sophia?! As in...?!”

“No way..,” Tails said. “That couldn’t be the same Sophia... Is she?”

“Wait, you know her?!” Sophie exclaimed in shock.

“Yeah, we know her!” Sonic said. “We met when she was like... eight or something.”

Sophia looked at the hedgehog and fox in shock.

“You two remembered?” she asked. “Ha! How shocking! And yeah. I did meet them when I was a kid.”

“Wow, you’ve grown up!” said Sonic. “How is time so fast in your world?”

“Uhhhh, it’s just fast?” Sophia responded, shrugging.

Sonic laughed. “Wow. I feel like I met twins without evening knowing!”

“Huh?” Sophia asked, confused.

“Sophia,” Sonic said. “I would like to introduce you to my friend, Sophie. Sophie, Sophia. Wait, now I’m getting confused.”

The four burst into giggles before Sophie waved at the teenage girl. Sophia only giggled and waved back.

“Wow,” she said. “Sophia. Sophie. No wonder you said, ‘Twins.’”

Sophie giggled. “Yep! Anyway, yeah. My name is Sophie Geetman.”

Sophia couldn’t help but smile with a hint of shyness. “I’m Sophia Torres.”

BOOM!

Sophia looked up and Sonic and his two friends looked back to be introduced to the scene with a heavy cloud of black smoke rising from behind the building.

“Wow,” Sophia said. “I expected a worse monster to destroy.”

“Sophia,” Tails said. “What were those monsters?”

“Destructors,” Sophia replied. “They’re from my world. Created for the sole purpose of destroying, as its name suggests.”

“And you became that to fight those?” Sonic asked. “Sheesh. What did I miss?!”

“Hey, life just came to me faster than I thought so, yeah.”

“Sophia!” shouted a girl.

Sophia looked up and the other three followed. They saw the same two girls who walked the messed up street, but... wearing dresses.

The blonde girl with three ponytails was wearing a yellow dress and had large trumpet sleeves.

Nisha was wearing a black slit dress that had flower designs on the bottom shown by a purple gradient and a black veil behind her head. She was too far away for the three to see more.

“What are you doing?! Aren’t you supposed to save them?!”

“Nisha, it’s fine!” the blonde girl said. “Sophia probably met them when they were young. Besides, the destructor was good as dead anyway.”

“I didn’t meet the woman though,” Sophia replied, pointing to Sophie.

“Well, anyway!” the blonde girl said. “Just wanna let you know that Mrs. Wolf is expecting us today.”

“Okay!” Sophia replied.

And the two girls left the four alone. Sophia sighed.

“Sorry,” she said. “Nisha, the girl that looked like an undead bride, is naturally like that. And that blonde girl is Aileen.”

“Nisha looks scary,” Tails commented.

“I know. Even I get the creeps from that hellish glare.”

“Why does that remind me of someone?” Sophie mumbled.

But then, Sophia sighed. “Sorry, but meeting you guys have to end shortly. Like what Aileen said, I have a little meeting to go to.”

“Already?” Sonic asked.

“Sorry, but since destructors are attacking, I have to make sure I know their next location, so I have to go.”

“Well,” Sophie said. “A hero’s gotta do what a heroes gotta do. Right?”

“Right.”

And Sophia gave her two old friends and new friend a smile before she jumped into the air with her wings and flew off. As soon as the magical girl in purple left the three, Sonic sighed and started to walk.

“Well,” he said. “I’ve seen everything. Sophia is now a teenager and I’m still the same age, and I managed to befriend two Sophies.”

Sophie giggled. “Coincidence? I think not.”

Tails chuckled. “Well, at least we managed to find out a little more about the monsters and what the heroes are. Magical girls, like what Sophie said.”

Sophie chuckled. “Why didn’t you tell me about that one other Sophie, Sonic?”

Sonic shrugged. “She always left before I could tell you.”

“Oh.”

“That aside, since we know that those monsters... destructors... are hunted by magical girls, but we never got to ask if Eggman was a part of this.”

“I still think he’s behind this,” Sophie replied. “I mean, isn’t he always behind every little disaster?”

“True,” Tails replied.

“Anyway, let’s head back,” Sonic said. “Gotta tell the others about this.”

Sophie and Tails nodded and they quickly ran to find the exit of the city.

On one of the farthest buildings, Sophia was sitting on it, smiling as she stared at her friends. When she heard her name get called, she briefly looked back and quickly flew off.
