Ultron becomes more evil and less sane. If he is not separated from the Ring soon enough it would permanently convert him into a new Sauron.

It is the One Ring from J.R.R. Tolkien's books. Most famously "The Hobbit" novel and "The Lord of The Rings" trilogy. Sauron is the son of the DEVIL and before he "died" he sealed most of his power and SOUL into one (almost) indestructible ring. It over rights the person who wears its SOUL with Sauron's SOUL. Pure Evil contained in one small Ring.
