Description Just what I needed, right? This little button came seeking some rest and water and will be ready to go again, either tonight or tomorrow. It's hard for city birds to find water, but this one seems content to kick back on some 100% cotton batting and let me give it drops of water with a syringe. When my neighbour brought it to me, I thought "Why are you bringing me a dead bird?" Turns out it wasn't dead, just doing a Monty Python impression. Now to see if it turns into a newt then gets better.

I feel luved, everybody keeps asking that. unfortunately, all I can do is keep takin the nasty antibiotics, and try to re grow my tummy-bacteria everyday to try and ward off the worst of the side-effects...and avoid anything with calcium, magnesium or iron, they interfere with the meds

I love you to pieces hon, I just want you to know that. I've known you for ages and I hate to think of anything bad happening to you. If there IS anything I can do - by all means let me know.

Oh my gods.it has been ages hasn't it? Now I feel old. Its been like seven years since I stumbled on your lord of the rings fics in college and got addicted to you. Oh well. Time to go back and re-read everything on exlibris again :}
reading on the couch with ma bunny and my wiener dog sounds like a great way to feel better... especially if I'm cackling over mauburts the straggler

If you mate them you could have a weinerbunny! But yeah - seven or eight years. Time just flies doesn't it?

Ah the fixed wiener does try. Dark Lord Smudgy is NOT impressed or thrilled. Just slimed

ROFLMFAO!! Poor Smudgy.

I think smudge likes it much better when he can sit on the back of the couch and watch Oyster-wiener sit on my mom's cat's head instead.

Are they good dogs? My friend has a weiner and she says he's a murderer, he'll kill anything he can.

Had one when I was little. Opus would kill anything that breathed but he loved his humans to no end. I lost quite a few small pets to his voracity till I learned better and gave up. Oyster has never shown Any tendencies toward agression. Not to the bunny the kitties or the babies. He also doesn't bark or chew stuff so he may just be abnormal. He does try to hump stuff though...and males of any species really turn him on. Well he is mine. Go figure

WEINER DOG SLASH! Yeah I would love one but I can't risk having an assassin on my hands when my whole life is nothing but a chain of visiting animals.

moonbaydesigns In reply to MagicRat [2012-09-12 17:29:16 +0000 UTC]

All reports indicate that they are pointy little assasins. I just have an abnormal one that doesn't kill things or bark

MagicRat In reply to moonbaydesigns [2012-09-13 06:50:16 +0000 UTC]

I would have one if I didn't have other pets. I wonder if it would be okay if I got a tiny puppy?

moonbaydesigns In reply to MagicRat [2012-09-13 15:31:32 +0000 UTC]

you'd have to smother the little thing in your other critters before the pup gets bigger than them. so puppy will think that they are bigger (and more loving) than him always.. even when it is no longer physically true.
Oh and a good advice I have been told; big dogs, get a girl, they want to "mommy" other critters. Small dogs, get a boy (fixed), little girl dogs are usually snappy bitches.
Also, if you get a puppy, be VERYVERYVERY picky about your puppy's reactions and behaviors right off the bat. if the pup is skittish or won't look you in the eye, it wont get any better as he gets older. I rejected a lot of pups before I found Oyster cause some wouldn't look me in the eye, one wanted to eat kitties, one just sat there and shivered, three of them snapped at small kids. I probably upset quite a few breeders in my area cause I didn't want the pups they were turning out. I also didn't want a shelter doggie because I wanted a pup that firmly believed that every human he has ever and will ever meet, loves him. Oyster believes that, whether it is true or not, and when I picked him up he just melted against my chest, looked in my eyes and was all "so when we goin' home?"

There, I'll get off my puppy soap-box now

Yeah I already knew about the eye contact and body language and such. It's just they're SO CUTE. But I've always been the local Involuntary Animal Shelter and I can't have a doggie that's a killer, no matter how adorable.

They are cute. Tell ya what. If I ever make it up to your neck of the woods ( or you to mine.) You can barrow mine for the day. Oyster loves to make new friends.

WyldeWyndWalker [2012-08-31 01:06:40 +0000 UTC]

I hope the little thing recovers. We get these little guys occasionally as they have a pension for smacking into our windows. Usually all they need are a few hours to get there bearings back.

YAY...being a city bird must be rough..all that concrete and glass.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MagicRat In reply to WyldeWyndWalker [2012-08-31 20:34:54 +0000 UTC]

And construction, especially around here.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WyldeWyndWalker In reply to MagicRat [2012-09-01 14:52:13 +0000 UTC]

We won't talk about construction. Right now there is a front loader and a huge backhoe parked in front of a HUGE gigantic 20 foot long ten foot wide 10 foot deep hole in the street in front of my house. They are re-doing the water lines in town and man what a mess!! you have to back track a quarter mile of road just to get into my driveway which is usually a quick twenty foot turn from the highway.

MagicRat In reply to WyldeWyndWalker [2012-09-01 20:07:50 +0000 UTC]

Ugh! Sounds like a total pain in the ass!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WyldeWyndWalker In reply to MagicRat [2012-09-02 00:36:22 +0000 UTC]

IT would be except the boss of the outfit is giving ole Poot all of the old copper and cast iron pipes...which he then takes to salvage to magically turn into green backs. Makes it almost worth the hassle!
