I came up with the idea of adding the ladybug. It was a lot of fun to do!!===================
7x10 watercolor and inks on arches paper.

Love the unusual color palette and the playful theme. The moon in the background is a perfect backdrop. The details are wonderful right down to the plaid stockings, you didnt miss a thing!

As far as submitting to publishing companies, are you familiar with the book "Childrens Writers & Illustrators Market"? They walk you through all the steps of putting together a submission package, and have a large section devoted to listing companies you can submit to. Check it out next time you're at the bookstore.

No, I never tried to submit anything... The truth is, I just don't know where to start. I have nothing to show really (meaning that I haven't done illustrations specifically for children's books yet) but it is a one of my dreams and goal as an illustrator to work on at least one children's book one day!! I just don't know where to submit and how to prepare a portfolio that's for a publishing house. *feels like a newbie* LOL
