Description

As I mentioned in my last post just an hour ago where I talked about a fake video game based on the movie Zodiac on PS2/360/PS3/Wii/PC, I tested positive for COVID-19 last Sunday, so now I’m stuck in my bedroom for another long ass time (two years after the first time). That’s the first deviation I posted since then, so here’s the second post and the first drawing I post since then (as well as the very first new drawing ever that I made in this very year 2024). This character right here is Lisa Alpha, created by a new friend I made in the fake games Discord server usernamed EmberBlitz07 (and screen-named Cameron J) for a fake game series he came up with called Robo-Invasion. From what he himself has described, Robo-Invasion would’ve been a first-person shooter series very much like Doom, Duke Nukem, and Quake. He even developed a whole formula about this series, which goes like this:

Robo-Invasion 1 (1995) and 2 (1996): Guns a blazin' first person shooters. Both released on PC, PS1, and Saturn, with the first also seeing a 3DO release in 1995 and the second also seeing a DS release in 2004.
Robo-Invasion: Juggernaut’s Killing Spree (1997): A spin-off that plays more like Postal 1. Released on PC, PS1, and Saturn.
Robo-Invasion 3 (1999): Psychological horror set in Lisa's hallucinations, exploring an abandoned robotics company's headquarters. Released on PC, Dreamcast, and N64, along with a PS2 port in 2001.
Robo-Invasion 4 (2004): Lisa exploring the Lifesaver robotics company when the robots get out of hand. Released on PC before getting PS2, Xbox, and PSP ports in 2005.
Robo-Invasion N-Gaged and Robo-Invasion Advance (both 2004): Handheld versions of the very first game, the former on Nokia N-Gage and the latter on Game Boy Advance.
Robo-Invasion: Vietnam (2005): A retelling of the Vietnam war in the Robo-Invasion universe. Released on PC, PS2, and Xbox.
Robo-Invasion Retribution I (2005), II (2008), & III (2014): A GTA-clone that’s a lot more about exploration. The first released on PC, PS2, and Xbox; the second & third both came out on PC, 360, and PS3, with III also releasing on PS4 and Xbox One.
Robo-Invasion Reflowed (2006): Remake of Robo-Invasion 1, with elements of 1, 2 and 3 mixed. Released on PS2, along with 360/PS3/Wii/PSP/PC ports in 2007.
Robo-Invasion: Panama (2006): Instead of playing as Lisa Alpha as usual, you play as a Mexico-born resident of Panama, Giancarlo Fierro. Released on PS2, Xbox, 360, PS3, and PC.
Robo-Invasion Retribution: 1929 (2009): A game in the GTA clone subseries in the style of an old noir film. Released on PC, 360, and PS3.
Robo-Invasion V (2011): Mix of guns a blazin' shooting and exploration. Released on PC, 360, and PS3.
Robo-Invasion (2015) and Robo-Invasion: Return to Dystopia (2019): Guns a blazin' first person shooter, more reminiscent of the original games. Both released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with the latter also seeing Xbox Series X/S and PS5 ports in 2020.
Robo-Invasion: Rise of Juggernaut (2022): Hero shooter reminiscent of TF2 in art style and gameplay. Released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One & Series X, and Switch.

And that’s the comprehensive list of Robo-Invasion games he came up with as of this writing. On top of all of that, he even thought up his own game company that would make this series called Bombshell Software. Based on his words for this fictitious company, Bombshell Software is a Northern Irish video game publisher (then later developer) founded in April 1993 in Belfast, County Down. They started publishing a handful of Mega Drive and SNES games in the PAL region (as well as arcade laserdisc games like Aliens and Escape from Cluster Prime) before actually developing for the first time with My Life as a Teenage Robot (don’t ask me why) on those two systems in 1995. Along with that, a few more MLAATR games, and the Robo-Invasion series, there’d also be Cubert’s Hopping Adventures on Mega Drive/SNES and a ton more licensed games like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari on PC, Dr. Strangelove & Silent Movie on PC/PS1/Saturn, Cry Baby Lane on PS1/PS2/Dreamcast/GBC, Hellsing on PC/PS2/Xbox, Usagi Yojimbo on PC/360/PS3/Wii, and Black Lagoon 1 & 2 on PC/360/PS3. Apparently, they even had their own console from 2007-2016 (which I also contributed some of my own fake licensed games to like South Park: Let’s Fighting Love!, Zodiac, Hairspray, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Yin Yang Yo!, District 9, True Grit, both of my Rock Band games [one for Pink Floyd and one for Blink-182], Hugo, Doctor Who, The Conjuring, The Amazing World of Gumball: Paradise Island & Recipe for Disaster, Disney’s Descendants, Cartoon Network Vs. Sega: Multiversal Collide, and Zootopia, among others).

NGL, all of this Robo-Invasion/Bombshell Software stuff that EmberBlitz07 came up with really fascinates me, as it does with a lot of other people in the Discord server (including owner Squidword15/RainbowYosh123  and fellow server member LachStarYT ). The fact that someone is this passionate about a fake video game series and fake video game company, all of which he came up with himself, really is quite a sight to admire. It actually brings me back to when my brother & I would come up with our own fake game franchises and fake game companies when we were in our pre-teens/teenage years (one of which I actually re-developed into a movie idea with Fox Knight; hell, even Starlights was part of that line-up towards the end!). In fact, this whole spiel of EmberBlitz07’s got me inspired to re-live that glorious time in my life and actually draw covers for those franchises of mine & my brother’s (based on what I remember, of course) as my next big drawing project once my Cartoon Network & Sega crossover is finally over!

Phew! Oh man, I didn’t actually think I’d have this much to say in a description of a drawing for a character that only, like, two of my dA friends know anything about at all (both of them being Discord friends), but there you have it, I guess.  Quite a testament to how how deeply, madly in love I’ve always been with the very concept of what could’ve been (let alone fake video games), though, am I right? Unsurprisingly, I release this drawing here on dA as another promotional piece for the Discord server (click this text right here to join on in and meet me there! ; you’ll get to see my GBA & DS covers based on Kimba the White Lion!).
