And now comes one of my 2023 drawings that I haven’t released until now, this one being based on Thomas ‘Neo’ Anderson, Keanu Reeves’ iconic character in The Matrix! This is one that I drew last April for my IRL college friend that I’ve talked about before whose fought Tomo Ohira at Street Fighter conventions and has a bunch of old game consoles and stuff like that, and he also has a dress-up fashion heavily inspired by The Matrix as well. Eleven months later, the drawing is now finally here for the movie’s 25th anniversary (at least for a public theatrical release here in the States, one week after a showing in the Mann Village Theater), and just after I brought in my Fake Licensed Game covers for both Arcade and Sega Dreamcast earlier this month as well! This also works, coincidentally enough, as my tie-in for the 15th anniversary of International Transgender Day of Visibility, given that this series was created by The Wachoskis and that the red pill in first film has been seen after their coming outs as an allegory for estrogen pills and how the Matrix itself creates a sense that something is fundamentally wrong, “like a splinter in your mind”, which has been likened to gender dysphoria! Sounds too good of a coincidence to actually be one, doesn’t it? lol

This is also my second-to-last drawing that I will ever get to post here on Deviant Art; as I’ve been making clear, I’m moving on to Newgrounds starting on Wednesday (having already made my account a week ago ). I do have a change of plans for it, though, and that is in regards to when I actually start bringing my old work from this site onto that site. Wednesday is when I will release my drawing of Star, Sonic and Gumball packing my old work up simultaneously on Deviant Art and Newgrounds, and then the next week (starting on April 8) will be spent on the old releases, giving me more time to place my drawings in certain compilations that I’m still setting up; no new drawings will come out next week to make room for this whole migration process, but hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do in order to make the transition as easy as possible (pun totally intended for today, lmao). I really am gonna miss all of the fun I had on this website in the past 11+ years, but looking at the AI-ridden Israel-led fuckfest it’s become, jumping off of this sinking ship is for the best for my career.
