i don't particularly like miku either though i use to listen to them till bou left. XD thanks though i crapped it. much appreciated. i agree. he is too nyappy. makes everyone look ridiculous doing the nyappy signs.

well for that question, pretty basic..i just go from dark to light or light to dark and color in the overall shading of the skin. many times i have to use my own colors. i use to use a skin base before i colored but i don't do that anymore..cuz my skin always ended up darker than the reference. after multiple shading of the skin..i just blend it using a low flow smudge tool.

you serious? wow. smudge is much better than blur. never use blur except in the first stages of your realistic art. it'll start faking the composition. in my opinion..smudge is blending on photoshop to you using your finger to get the shading right on a pencil drawing.
try it out, but it all depends on what you like..and what is your style. smudging does not have to be the only way to get the shadings right. your last digital portrait wasn't bad..you should continue with that style. as for your realistic pencil ones..those are awesome.

i agree that the hair on top definitely needs more work. as for the headband, i was stuck on what to do with that for the longest time....no way am i gonna think of a way to make that thing more realistic. i agree with you though.
