Description
Does anyone know how to stop a scanner from making images look like national smog alerts? The glass is clean, the light was blocked out with delicately placed towels.
Pretty tired of this device being shitty.
So shitty I'm distracted from whatever it was that triggered me in the first place.
OH WELL I GUESS THAT'S GOOD.
In other news I'm having Earl Grey tea and macarons and it's quite delightful.
Edit: Thank you for all the helpful suggestions! Some really good ideas, I'm gonna try putting a weight on the lid to see if that helps!

Oh my goodness do knives like that actually exist? Because I want it. That and something else, too...

My scanner does the same thing.
I had to take out the glass and dust it. All those little pieces collect up, and they really can fuck up an otherwise great scan.
Alternatively, it could be the light losing potency- either because the lid is seeping open a pinch or because the bulb itself is going dim.
I would try setting a weight over the top or getting a replacement bulb before anything else.
Luck be with you, my love.

It looks light your getting light coming in. What I do is if I have something that I'm scanning that won't allow me to shut the lid completely , I leave it open and cover the whole scanning surface with a towel that is dark. This helps me some.

I would suggest having a thick cardstock behind (on top of) what you are going to scan, that way as much light can be reflected back and reduce leaks and intrusions. Kinda like having a backing board.
I was also going to suggest a diffirent paper grade/wheight, maybe with diffirent material density or even brand from the one you draw with now.

Put a heavy book on the problem section. That's what I do.Β

I prefer Chamomile, or peppermint with Pomegranate juice, myself. So, what's got sketch girl pissed enough to draw a knife in such a hazardous way?

My scanner is ancient and crotchety and sometimes doesn't scan, sometimes scans all blown out, and usually scans fine. Β If it acts up I try again; it usually goes on the second try (I think it needed a third once). Β Though I typically scan Black and White (Fax settings) for inks - scanning color or grayscale there's always a chance that the scanner might be trying to Do Stuff to the image; filtering or adjusting it. Β If those settings have been activated it should be possible to turn them off.

you can usually make it a little better in photoshop by going to image>adjustments>curves then use the white dropper on the foggy areas. The better your scan is though the better off you are though, because turning the grey of the fog white, usually turns some of the grays in the pencils off.
sooo try to press down hard like someone said, and make your pencils dark/use pens.
nice pic btw

Wow. Well, my printer has its share of problems as well. I often use an aerosol duster to keep out debris, as well as pile a few extra blank sheets of paper on top of what I scan to make sure no marks on the bottom of the scanner lid manage to peek through. Looking at this, I would surmise that your scanner lid may be askew, in which case, you might want to try putting something heavy on the side where the light gets through. It usually works for me in this kind of situation. Even after all that, though, my scans still aren't too clean, so I try to touch it up in photoshop.

That expression is stunningly catching, and her body is fantastic. Β She has some gorgeous curves, a nice and naturally strong look to her... and clearly you'd better keep back or else!
Now someone bring her her clothes. Or make the Earl Gray hot. Makis and Captain Picards do not tolerate anything less!!

Earl Grey tea is great. Never had a macaron though, should try them eventually
I don't really know how to stop scanners from doing that though ;.; I haven't drawn on paper in years, even though I probably should
