What color does the bottom of the container say? :0 sorry for such a late reply. you can mix in a little white, otherwise, adding the white onto your face when you highlight and contour really lightens up the grey.

I was dumb in this tutorial.and it will be remade. but i found out through experience that it is much easier to use brushes for the grey, don't use your fingers. if you warm it up with the friction of the brush, it will become much easier to apply. also use the primary blue ben nye creme liner its much better than the aquacolor.
Also aah Thank you Uu U you are too nice i am glad this helped <3<3<3

Can we use baby powder as an alternative to the Ben Nye stuff? I have ben nye cadaver grey and I think it will just make it a bit darker. inThe nearest store with ben nye stuff around me is a quarter tank of gas away and I'm leaving at 4 for the convention. I have no time to get this!
Do you also have an alternative to the final seal?
ALSO, to use the liner, do you add any water to it or anything?
AND, do you have any tips for makeup not coming off in the arm pits?
That's all of my questions. I'm done now. Thank you c:

/terribly late i am so sorry.

you can use baby powder but i like the ben nye sealing powder because it soaks in nicely to the makeup and it also has antiperspirants to fight off sweat. but my friend used baby powder so mean why not c: i just recommend the ben nye sealing powder since i have gotten my best results with it. but just use baby powder for an alternative.it's probably less costly too. as far as final seal goes, I really like hairspray as an alternative. if by liner you mean the creme liners then no i do not use water with it since it is an oil based makeup. it will just separate and become gross if water is added. for easier application you can heat it up for like... 10 seconds or just warm it up with friction with a brush or sponge, this way it will apply smoother. I don't think there is a way to really prevent makeup from coming off of the armpits since there is so much friction happening all the time and deodorant and sweat happening. it's kind of impossible. i would just say bring a pan of makeup around with you to do touch ups. so just make a little makeup touch up kit and just bring what you think you will need for keeping it nice throughout the con especially if you aren't staying at the con hotel/ convention center. c:

Can I ask what brand you use to prime your eyes? I have a hell of a time preventing creasing makeup (between trolls and Cats, it gets annoying, esp. under the eyes xD)

MaliceMidnight In reply to That-Way [2011-12-16 08:14:12 +0000 UTC]

I use Urban Decay or too faced, but you don't have to use any of those I know that elf has a $1 primer that you can get at Target. I just like urban decay and too faced because i have been using it for years with wonderful reults. you can get urban decay primer potion and too faced shadow insurance at SEPHORA

Helpful tutorial is helpful. C8 <3 Thanks for making it!

Anyways, I was just wondering, what do you use *exactly* to seal everything, mind I ask? And after that does it normally not come off unless washed?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

MaliceMidnight In reply to azile9 [2011-09-26 01:38:31 +0000 UTC]

The only difference between my method and hanyaan's is that i do not add white to the regular grey because it is a great medium color and makes contouring and highlighting easier.

HELPFUL >:V

But I was wondering where you can buy the Ben Nye make up? I looked in alot of places and it seems that I can't find what I exactly need.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MaliceMidnight In reply to creamated-chocolate [2011-09-21 01:15:43 +0000 UTC]

You can purchase Ben Nye Products online(clown makeup websites) OR if you have a Theatre/costume store in your area you can purchase it there. you can google (your area and ben nye makeup) and something should show up. that would be your best bet but if all else fails order online. since it is theatrical makeup you cant find it just anywhere and if ordering online fails you can look around at some halloween stores since it is that time of year. i can't sayt that you will find quality makeup or that you will find ben nye (you probably wont) but you can always take a look.(never use the fae paint at those halloween stores always go to a costume/magic/theatrical shop for cosplay things) shipping might cost you though. which troll are you planning on going as?

creamated-chocolate In reply to MaliceMidnight [2011-09-22 00:16:37 +0000 UTC]

I have looked online. (No places that I'm aware of sell quality body paint.) I found places to buy them, I just don't want to accidentaly purchase the wrong thing.
I'm planning to be Gamzee.

i will grab some links c:
here
[link]
you want to get grey steel grey and white.
and since they are the creme liners you might want to get quite a lot of grey. normally i buy 4 little containers of grey just to be totally safe. but it also depends on how much skin you have to cover.

creamated-chocolate In reply to MaliceMidnight [2011-09-23 01:50:04 +0000 UTC]

As far as Gamzee's concerned I just need my arms and the neck up. (But I might get more anyway to share with the friends I'm going with.)
Thanks for the link my search is over ;3;

I dont feel to safely about using PAX (pros-aide adhesive and acrylic paint) to paint onto my hands and arms. I was told it is completely safe, and doesnt rub off, but also slightly expensive.
Could i just use creme makeup, and would it not rub off if i sealed it enough?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MaliceMidnight In reply to MatiasuKera [2011-08-06 02:11:31 +0000 UTC]

yes you can still use cremem makeup, but even if you apply powder and seven or eight layers of the final seal spray it will still rub off a little. no matter how much you powder and seal creme makeup it will still rub of a little. you can't expect it not to rub off a little. but if you are really not down with getting your shirt smudged with makeup then pax is the way to go. but yes pax is a bit more expensive. but worth it. also if you go with pax be sure to smear on the creme makeup over it after you powder the pax. if you apply the creme makeup with pax underneath it it still won smudge and it will be the same color as your face. the pax i had used was nearly white and a tad on the blue side, so after i just applied the creme makeup over it and it worked like a charm. it didnt rub off on anything.

MatiasuKera In reply to MaliceMidnight [2011-08-06 02:19:37 +0000 UTC]

sweet! so, apply creme makeup then PAX? or reversed?
Will i not need to buy acryllic paint this way?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MaliceMidnight In reply to MatiasuKera [2011-08-06 02:24:55 +0000 UTC]

Nope. Pax, wait for the pax to become tacky(not wet but almost dry) then powder, then creme makeup. and this way you will not have to buy paint.

dont forget to reapply the powder and final seal after applying the creme makeup over the PAX
