The time has finally come! Time to learn a bit more about everyone's (someone's?) favorite magical polymorphing college student mage! Really happy with how this came out. It's not perfect or anything, but probably the best I can do right now. I admit I aped style a bit for this, which is fine with me because I love his style. He also played a rather major part in Sally's design (more on that later). But for now, let's talk about who this mysterious lady is!

Sally is the foremost character from "the magic world". At least, in the story. The magic world is a parallel world to our own, and is very similar! Except, magic is a real thing. But instead of it being something practiced in secret, or used to create dungeons, swords and fantasy stuff... Really the world just went on as normal. The biggest difference would be the use of teleportation magic, eliminated the need for long distance vehicles such as cars, planes, etc... So there are almost NO ROADS. Cities and towns are far apart from one another, but densely packed due to there only being sidewalks. As a side effect of this, parks are more prominent but are owned by private corporations. In an effort to out do each other, about half the parks are now some sort of "theme park" or advertise (sometimes bogus) magic exclusive to their park (cures headaches! Gives you a relaxing massage!). What does this have to do with Sally? I'm getting there, hold on!

Lastly, corporations have used magic as a business model. Creating potions, tonics, scrolls, items, etc... But there is still technology, mostly due to how specific magic can be (and sometimes unpredictable). So don't worry, cell phones are still very usable. But the satellites may be held up with advanced wizardry. Now, each kind of magic is part of a specific school. People study at campuses for these specific schools of magic as a vocation. And Sally studies Polymorph magic! (See! I brought it around!)

Polymorph magic is considered the most DANGEROUS of all magic schools. As such, a very VERY strict enlistment/teaching policy is in effect. Those who misuse or try to steal this school of magic are punished severely. And those who wish to learn it must first, not be selfish and evil, but also must not be too altruistic! Somewhere in the "neutral" area. Too evil and, the obvious happens. To good and the desire to use it willy-nilly (or be manipulated) rises!

So why is it so dangerous? Well, a user COULD hide anywhere, impersonate ANYONE and essentially be an unstoppable spy. There doesn't exist any magic to track or reveal such magic, so it is rightly feared. That said, a major part of polymorph magic is healing (they are essentially doctors. Repair a limb, cure disease, etc...) so it is a necessity.

So yes, in a nutshell: The world is controlled by Magical Bureaucracy. Which is interesting to me. Now let's REALLY move on to Sally!

Sally is a college student, and a lazy one. She's never been too interested in magic and looks for shortcuts and easy ways out. A lot of the time this involves "borrowing" powerful or mysterious objects to pass them off as research. She's very vain, never wanting to be the butt of a joke or mocked. But, conversely, she's very mischievous and loves to pull a prank or tease others. But she's not cruel or evil, just (in a sense) playful. She wouldn't prank someone she doesn't know (unless they were asking for it) and would be quick to help anyone who fell victim to one of her misadventures.

Jack "Malkai" is a frequent target of her mischief, because she knows him well. And since he has shown up in her world, she's found a new interest in magic!

Phew. Okay I still have more to talk about. Her design: Essentially, her design was "the anti-magical girl". It's a common trope to have the "magical girl" dress ridiculously, be super hyper and cute and (probably) be a high school student. Sally is basically the opposite. She's not hyper, but more of a normal, punk-ish college (not high school!) student.

She dresses fairly normally, with some cool punk rock boots! Which I owe to who came up with them. At that point, I had no real idea for her shoes and he went ahead with these and they just felt absolutely perfect to me. They matched her personality and really brought her look together. So, thank you again, TFS!

Lastly is her hair. She has blue hair, which is a typical anime-fantasy trope, and is completely ridiculous and impossible looking. The main reason her hair looks the way it does though, is because it was fun to draw. Really, not much other reason. It's blue because "anime parody", but the rest was just me drawing and not knowing when to stop. But I love how it looks, her whole style seems pretty unique to me but... Who knows, maybe it isn't.
