Description
Just thought I'd show the process work of these pages. I don't pencil as tight as I normally do since trying to ink the way I render with the pencils is out of my capabilities at the moment, and it's more fun to just render with the brush! In case your curious I used a #3 brush and #2. The dry brush effect was done using china markers. Also I'm glad I was scanning my process as I went along drawing so big it's hard to see the proportions of the figures. After scanning my roughs I realized how HUGE Batman's arms were so thanks to being able to see it smaller I was able to fix that before I inked it...phew! Here's the link to the finished piece [link]Related content

That is awesome to see! I love seeing how people work. And I'm happy that taking the time to scan each stage helped you catch the arm you wanted to fix. ^^

Oh HELL yeah. LOVE it. Let me know when you start your next commission list. I see a Manapul Dark Knight Returns Batman in battle armor fighting Supes (ala Frank Miller).

Really a excellent job man!
In the last step, when you put the brown shadows, use Photoshop or is in real watercolors?

"since inking the way I render is beyond my capabilities at the moment...."
This looks different, and similar to the normal way you draw, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Now I know. This is awesome by the way:}

is there some lightbox here? Here you just cleanded the pencil by using photoshop (or something like that)?
Anyway, this is amazing stuff man, thanks for sharing.

nope no lightbox. I use a gummy eraser to erase the stray lines but it's light enough that it retains the important lines.

always great to see roughs to pencils to inks, and this is a gorgeous piece, love the dry brush work on batman's cowl especially to vary up the textures.
thanks for posting this man

That is TASTY. you're really onto something here Francis - and the drybrush on Batman's cape is a sweet touch.

thanks! actually I'm still getting a hang of the dry brush so I cheated and used china markers for that effect
