That would be hard to prove though since the pokeball is only activated upon physical contact unless renamon was not a physical thing or that the batteries inside of it must have been fried from gamma radiation.

Must be an defective poke ball. Cheap mass produced made ones are nothing compared to ones made from the apricorns. Though after an hit to the head like that, it may digivolve(d) back to the non super intelligent Renamon.
