Sketches made during my breaks at work. This was an awful lot of fun, witness as I put my Seley-Leopard through all kinds of artistic tweaking and transformations!

Three DA artists on this one, all of whom bear mentioning...

is the artist I'm mimicking in number 2. I wouldn't say I have a favorite "mangaka" or anything, but Spunky/Zillabean was among my first "internet artist website" discoveries back in the 90s and has been a constant inspiration to me since then. I considered a sincere attempt to copy her style (which would be easy, since I have a sketch from her featuring this specific character) but... those piyo duckies are too cute... :3

is featured in number 7. There's no big history to tell here, I've been following his art for about a year or so tops, but his style is just so darn appealing that I couldn't help but try it out! I'm constantly impressed at his simple but refined style, definitely became a fast favorite!

is featured in number 8. I was supposed to "tag" people in this box but I hate tagging so instead I used the spot to mimic another of my favorite artists here on DA. Kevin Bolk's art never fails to make me smile, particularly because as I came out of my anime phase in college, I came back into a love of western cartoons and comic strips. I really admire people who can take very "simple" designs and perfect an original, immediately recognizable, and appealing comic style.
