on the bottom six layers of the map, RIGHT above lava (like, put stone over lava and stand on it) and though rare, they will spawn in any light, and will even follow you up ladders to the surface.

NOPE. NO HAX c: and its cuz theyre EXTREMELY rare, they spawn RIGHT above lava on the bottom 16 layers of the map, in any lighting and not next to any monsters. AND THIS WAS ON PEACEFUL. >u<
i got a big one, then i hit it and it broke into 4 medium ones, then i broke those and they all broke into 4 tiny ones that follow me around.. theyre so CUTE >w< *squees*

uhh, download MCEDIT, then make a random map with lava, and one bit of stone above it. wait a few minutes and a slime or two should appear :3 especially if its on peaceful, cuz then theres no other monsters lol
