Hey sensei...how do you draw the body from the side? like, does the shoulder immedietly connect to the neck? Do you draw in the shoulder blades?

I'll have to make a side tutorial I think... but to answer your question, that depends on whether you are looking the person straight on, a little above or a little below, and whether it is directly side view or if they are turned away a little or turned toward us a little. My suggestion is that you try to find a good picture of side views and study them, because I don't know when I'll have time for a tutorial like that. I usually draw the shoulder connecting to the neck, and make the character facing slightly away. Don't know how helpful that is.
