It was all doen in Zbrush 2.0
For the cloak I took a plane 3D tool, and with symetry turned on I pulled and bent it into the desired shape with the move tool.
The shapes I got were far from perfect but in a dark image like this allot is hidden.

Dang Sidious is really evil lookin'! One thing that I'm not sure if this picture needs is lightning coming from his hands. Part of me thinks that would be pretty cool, although I do like it a lot as is.

Gah, that one rocks, but the original looks a bit more menacing. This looks like he's about to kill you, whereas the one with lightning looks like he's in the process of killing you. I think it's creepier when people are about to kill you... so uhh, I vote this, although keep the lightning one up too!

Yeah The problem with the lightning one is that the lightning would act as the primary light source with all that darkness arround and so the primary light source would be below the sith's face, unlike the original where it's located above, causing the hood to cast a creepy shadow downward.
I tried using 2 lights, you can see way too much of his body and I wanted it to sort of blend into the darkness.
