So I expressed the notion that I didn't want to screw up, and you know what I did? Screwed up the entire left side of the background! I fixed it though and I couldn't be happier to have finished. Im really happy with the end result and I finally feel like my art is going in the right direction

I think you could add rimlighting to her shoulders, because of the light that comes from her back.

To be honest I don't think there is any way you could have improved this piece. In my eyes it is perfect. Everything from the lighting to the look in that girl's eyes. I don't know how you screwed up the left side of the background because frankly I don't see it. The colors you picked wonderfully, with a mastery and finesse only a highly skilled artist can do. I take it you used only two base colors? The brown and the green?
It's just lovely. Utterly entrancing, all I can say is keep doing what you do. It's working.

Theres actually blue as the reflected colour because well i'm pedantic about colour schemes lol, but essentially yes, mainly orange browns and green! And thank you very much for your comment, it means so much to hear that, I really do hope that I'm able to create something like this again

Very beautiful! I really like the contrast between her and the green background and how her hair seems to also go in flow with the weaving of the leaves. Heck I like how you handled the hair too it's nice and subtle show just enough texture to give it form. Wonderful piece, keep it up!
