Description
This is inspired by my grandfather's story. He said it happened during World War 2, that there lived a lady not far from their house whose husband was a farmer. If there was one thing obvious about the couple was that they were in love with each other and contented about their way of life. One morning the husband kissed her wife goodbye to tend some matters in town and told her that he would not be back till sundown. The lady went through her daily chores as hours passed by without noticing that the sun is already setting. After cooking dinner that night the lady waited on their porch for her husband. But hours passed till it was almost midnight and still no sign of him. A bit worried she thought that maybe there was no available transportation since it was the time of the year that rain is constant and travelling the road at night brings peril to riders. She calms herself with the thought that when morning comes her husband will be at her side of the bed. Morning came and she woke up still without a hint of him. Her heart started to beat faster. The thought of being alone cast a subtle shadow at the back of her mind. Her eyes began to drop beads of tears, then a knock at the door was heard. He's here! she thought. She scurried towards the door and opened it. To her dismay it wasn't him. It was their neighbor, an old woman. The lady asked what brought her here. The old woman with a gloomy face then narrated a news she heard moments ago about a group of men who were killed by Japanese soldiers, accusing them to be guerrilla fighters. The old woman said that one of the names was that of her husband. The neighbor took the hand of the lady and after giving some comforting words she left.
Her husband, dead and will never be coming back. The face of him flashes in her thoughts, he was smiling at her. That smile suddenly turned into a man pale of face, without life. She looked around the house, it was darker and even colder. Tears began to flow unto her cheeks.
That afternoon, when dark clouds gathered and cold winds blew, the lady received a letter confirming the death of her husband. Now she was certain of all things. As night falls and rain poured heavily into the land, the lady tied a rope into the ceiling, hanged herself and left forever the living. But, did she?
It was said that when villagers found the dead lady a couple of days later, her eyes and face were still wet as if she was crying even after death. They buried her immediately since she didn't have any relative in the village. Then, an eerie thing transpired in that small village. Village people said that everytime it rains they hear a strange sobbing sound from a girl and that the more the rain poured the louder the sound becomes. The villagers were certain that the sound they were hearing was that of the dead lady, crying for her murdered husband.

So many tragedies awaited our people when the Japanese arrived....the poor woman...And she's not even with her dead husband, at that. QAQ
Really good Photoshoping here, Kuya. It's like a cover for a book.
