Yea i was aiming for a minimal concept to start with. What would you recommend for changes?

Nice work, the light green looks like burned out green, try adding pix to 'our sponsors' leaving just green border, that might look better. On navigation bar/menu, light green looks good. The logo blends in too much with background, might want to do something about that....

You should change the white green color to some thing darker but green.
