Yeah, thinking about it, the last thing Manon remembers Alain doing is him yelling at her saying that they were never really traveling together and that he could never be as strong as he wants to be with her around. Then the whole thing with Chespin and him not being there for her then. We know that he feels badly and is trying to fight for her, but she has no clue. She just feels abandoned and all alone at this point.
