Description
"The Framework of My Osteoarchitecture" da, your title limit should be 100 characters dammit! haha.so this is mallory, she was also in 'sing me songs of pasta deary' and 'biting to bootlicking... most patient girl ever, i swear to god. and maggie, ~ spitswords and i agree that she has like, the worlds most perfect back and stomach. we are jealous. shes an irish dancer, #1 in the country or something. shes used to sitting up straight, which is very lovely...
so.... that spine etc? took me two hours (plus some panera and yogurt breaks) to paint that on her. and yes, i did paint it. and yes, it was funny to see her running around my studio in bright red tights, dress, and spine! haha. she did this little jig and i have not laughed that hard in a realllllllly long time. and after we shot, she had to go to a danceclass/give dance lessons and we sprayed hairspray on the spine so itd stay all through her practices and scare everyone. teehee.
as for that backdrop, its supposed to be like, magnified vertebrae, but i wish i had done it in yellow and gold instead of gold and brown (and i hate acrylic, hence the... eh... weird texture) and you can tell she kinda had to sit close to it (where her leg is sloping down to her knee you can see its a foot or two away from the backdrop) but since i treat my photos like paintings, they are meant to have various places to lock focus, and though id prefer subject first, certain element of subject, then backdrop.... backdrop first wont kill me. hah.
oh, and yeah the style i painted the bones in is kinda blocky but thats how i paint and plus i have carpal tunnel and tendonitis so pssh! we used a diagram as reference and i did it all with teeny sponges and cream face paint.
flesh and blood, bones and spirit... these are the things that make up human beings, the most unique animate organisms on this planet. however, upon the taking of the apple, eve pushed the female uniqueness into something more, full of pain and punishment for natural curiousity; blood in exchange for knowledge.
now you know you want a bloody apple too. bahaha. dear god do i need to do more cooltone work, my warmtone part of my portfolio is hmm.... multiplying like rabbits!

This reminds me really strongly of Frida Kahlo's paintings. It's a beautiful shot, very impressive and stylized.

This is wonderful! The forms in the background correspond perfectly with the bones on her arms and back. I especially like the half-rotten apple in her hand. That for me is the bolt that holds everything together. It brings a theoretical balance to the composition by weighing the dress even with the figure. The hand behind her neck looks very shiny...did she have a plastic glove on as well as the paint, or is that a mild glare?
Excellent work!

I really like how the bones are blocky and edgy as they are...,I really appreciate your dedication to your artwork, that you would sit there and paint all that for one shot. Nice work.

Oh my goodness holy crappy crap. I swear, you are so inspirational. I adore the concept, its so symbolic and potential. The colours are so so intense and vibrant. I love your style of painting - they look like lego blocks, the choice of colours is superb and that background is killer, and the apple too - The position, her eyes gazing onto the apple oh my dear god
I love the atmosphere you seem to create in a picture
I adore this, as you can tell

bah humbug .........all this flows sooo nicely together .....just the right amount of skeletal structure displayed......phalanges to coccyx........the choice to do this in warm tones keeps the piece quite inviting.....fine attention to detail and not overdoing it as always ........very spendid indeed ...

Love the painted bones - especially those on the thumb holding the apple, somehow that makes the whole thing feel more... dangerous? The backdrop works fine in this photo - indeed, its colouring goes really well with the apple, dress and her skin.
