Description Reading the UF tutorial prepared by [link] I thought that maybe something similar could be achieved with Fractal Explorer.
The result is not as 'professional' as the one provided by UF but still I think it is worthwhile to show what I was able to get.
I hope my FE friends will be able to improve substantially this result!

Have a happy fractal day!

Sorry, Mario, but I don't see the .zip file mentioned anywhere. Can you help, please?

Thanks, Mario. I've been a bit busy the past couple of days. I hope I'll have a chance to play soon.

Thanks for the information! It seems that you are the only one trying to download the zip file.
For some extrange reason, dA is assuming that my .zip file is a video and thus is preventing it from uploading! One more quirk to the site.
If you note me your e-mail I will send it to you.

Thank you for providing a great FE tutorial. This program is sometimes left out as the poor relation to UF.

In my case, I prefer the true fractal feeling you can get from FE as opposed to the unbelievable creations made with so many layers in UF, which end in my opinion in a non-fractal image.

Finally someone uploading FE tutorials! Great one.
Usually I don't do fractal manips (two layers) in FE but this is a great idea.

Give it a try! This is the result of using twice the same fractal, one rotated 90° and used as background: [link]
By the way, I have my problem in thinking that only UF can use more than one layer and still call it 'raw fractal'.

I tried something similar here: [link] where I combine two different spot files. Still, I guess I like to make them directly.
Well, I've a problem with UF and raw fractal in the same sentence. But I really don't care, in the end, what people decide to call it as long is well done. But for me, UF, does fractal manipulations most of the time. Every time you use a layer to build a new thing, you are creating a new fractal... still, on the other hand, Apophysis uses several triangles that affect each other, creating the unique fractal on the end. Not as layered, as UF, but...
As long as it is beautiful, the "correct" label is a personal choice.

Well Filipa, we think exactly the same: something with 20 layers can't be a raw fractal. To me, this is an unfortunate naming error.
Unfortunately I followed your link to 'Monosaccharide' but the image is not showing.

Oh, don't know why the image isn't showing. It also happens to me sometimes. dA glitchs. But thanks for checking out (I can see the image).
And there is a saying: great minds think alike
